The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card base.
I cut my DSP at 5-1/4" x 2". Now I know I'm not going to use up that stack cutting pieces that small. You can get 3 cards from one sheet cutting it that way! I'm sure I'll work on another card sometime that uses more of the sheet! But for today it's 2". I cut a 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Berry Burst card stock for the layer. I taped the DSP to the layer and then I glued the layer on top of the card about 1/2" from the fold.
The words are from the "Sketched Butterflies" bundle and were stamped using Berry Burst ink. I cut them out using a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.
I had some retired Berry Burst ribbon, I tied a bow and glued it on the circle and the card was done. I didn't add any bling, I liked it just the way it was. The eye is drawn to the bow first so that was enough distraction. This was a fun card to make and I love the colors.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
