Storytime Moments, Storybook Friends, Thinking of You Card, Mother's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I don't know what to use it for. Birthday? Thinking of you? Mother's Day? Just a note? I'm sure I'll figure out something but as of this posting I have no idea yet, it just isn't speaking to me. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and I scored it at every 1/4". I started in the middle and scored the right and then the left. I glued this to the card base.

Next came the "envelope flap" part. It was a bit tricky and I messed up a few times. I took a piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Storytime Moments" 12" x 12" package and cut it at 5-1/4" x 2". I marked the bottom center at 2-5/8" and I marked each side at 1". I cut each side. I cut from the right mark to the center mark and then I cut the left side from the mark to the center.

For the layer behind the flap I cut a 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Lost Lagoon card stock and I taped the DSP to it leaving 1/4" at the top and I trimmed the bottom edges to 1/4" from the DSP. I glued this piece to the front of the card about 1/4" from the fold at the top.

The fancy frame is from the "Storybook Friends" bundle. I cut it using a piece of Lost Lagoon. The center is a piece of Basic White that I had saved from another frame I had cut a while back. Taking my Blending Brush I scrubbed on some Pool Party ink. Then I glued the frame to the center of the card and then I glued the oval in place.

Searching through the cute critters in the "Storybook Moments" I ran across this knitting one. I thought she was cute and the colors in it went well with the flap. I set it in place using Dimensionals.

I cut the word label from the "Heart Shaped" bundle because I liked the shape of it. But I didn't know what to stamp on it. I am leaning towards "thinking of you" or "Happy Mother's Day". It looks like a mom sitting there but because it's looking off to the right I leaned more towards "thinking of you". As of the posting of this I haven't decided yet.

This was a fun card to make. I like the score lines, it gave it a fun background without it being just smooth white.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's card,
Wanda
