Simply Said, Bee Mine, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you using some pieces that were sitting on my worktable. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Bee Mine" 12" x 12" package. This was from a retired package. I have SO much of it left.

The bee in the circle was from a name tag I had gotten at Terri's Stamp Camp. It was too cute to put in recycling. It had my name on the tag part and the bee with the circle and the square of DSP was on the upper part. I should have taken a pic of the tag but I forgot.  I had trimmed that piece of DSP to 2" x 2". I cut a 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" piece of Poppy Parade card stock and taped the DSP with the bee to it. The bee had a Dimensional on the back and I added Dimensionals to the circle. Then I added Dimensionals to the square piece. I set it aside.

I cut three strips of DSP from the same package. They measure 1/2" x 4" and the layers behind them measure 3/4" x 4-1/4".  I taped the strips together. Then I taped them to the front of the card centering the middle piece as much as I could by eyeing it and then I added a strip to each side.

The bee piece was set in place.

And finally the words.  They re from the "Simply Said" set and had been stamped using black Memento ink. I had stamped them a while ago. They were inside the stamp set just waiting to be used. They had been cut out using the die from the "Heart Shaped" bundle. I cut an 11/16" x 2-7/8" piece of Poppy Parade card stock for the layer. I taped the words to the layer and then rounded the corners with my scissors. Dimensionals were added to the back and they were set in place using Dimenisonals.

It was fun to be able to use items that were on my worktable and found inside stamp sets! The bee was just too cute to put in the recycling bin and now I have a card made using it!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
