The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 2-11/16" x 4-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Wildly Flowering" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the bottom part of the card front. I cut a piece of Moody Mauve card stock that measured 2-11/16" x 4-1/8" and I textured it using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued that to the upper part of the card.
Next I cut the Blackberry Bliss circle using the largest die in the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. And using the next die in that package, I cut a Basic White piece. I taped this circle to the Blackberry Bliss circle and set it aside.
The cake was done next. I stamped the rectangles using Crumb Cake ink that was stamped off once and then on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. The large rectangle on the bottom and the smaller one on top. I used the detailed dies in the "Cake Celebrations" bundle and stamped the frosting part using Crumb Cake ink. I fussy cut the cake.
I stamped the cake stand next using Early Espresso ink. I cut it out using the matching die.
Then I cut the flowers and top cake layers using the images from the same "Cake Celebrations" and Boho Blue ink.
The leaves were done next. They were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink and then cut out using the matching dies.
And lastly the words were stamped using Boho Blue ink and were fussy cut.
Now that the stamping is done it's time to assemble. I started with the cake and cake stand. I used a little bit of glue and glued the cake to the stand. Then I fussy cut the top Boho Blue top layers of the cake and glued them in place.
Glue was added to the back of the cake and stand and it was set in place on the Basic White circle.
The flowers were added next using glue and then the leaves were glued in place.
Small pearls were added to the center of the flowers and then to the cake stand. Dimensionals were added to the back of the circle and it was set in place on the front of the card about 1/4" from the fold and about 3/8" from the top edge.
Dimensional pieces were added to the back of the word piece and it was set in place on the lower part of the card.
I like this card but I think it could use a couple more flowers on the lower right part of the cake. Because I made mine differently than the original card that bottom area is a bit bare. I'll adding them later.
Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
