The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.
I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the butterfly embossing folder from the "Beautiful Butterflies" bundle. I trimmed it to 4" x 5-1/4" and glued it to the front of the card.
I took a quarter sheet of Basic White card stock and cut the butterfly. The embossing folder is designed to hold the matching die. I set the die on top of the butterfly on the folder, added my card stock, closed the folder and ran it through my Big Shot. It textured and cut the butterfly all at the same time. How fun is that?
I used Daffodil Delight and my blending brush to scrub on some ink around the outer edges of the butterfly. Then I used Pretty in Pink ink to color in the center area, I did go over a bit of the Daffodil Delight and it created a little orange in some areas.
Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place over the butterfly on the 4" x 5-1/4" embossed piece.
The words are from the same "Beautiful Butterflies" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the die from the same bundle. I had to double up on the Dimensionals. They are on each end of the word piece.
I tied a bow with some silver cording an glued it to the wing. Then I added a little glue to the center of the word piece and set it in place across the wing.
I set that word piece across the body. Across either wing and I just wasn't liking it. I set it across the left wing and walked away and when I came back I liked what I saw, so this is what I ended up with.
This was an easy card to make, other than struggling with the word piece.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
