Darling Dinos, Children's Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another children's birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Granny Apple Green card stock and textured it using the "Dotted Circles" embossing folder. I usually emboss first and then cut but with all of these dots I thought I might crush some after embossing. I glued this piece to the card base.

Next I stamped the images from the "Darling Dinos" bundle. I colored the dino using both light and dark Granny Apple Green Blends pens. The belly, spots and spine were colored in using the light Daffodil Delight Blends pen. The balloon was colored in using both light and dark Daffodil Delight Blends pens. The rocks were colored in using both light and dark Smoky Slate Blends pens.

There's two sets of rocks. One was stamped on a separate sheet of Basic White card stock and the other was stamped on the focal piece. I cut the piece to measure 3-1/4" x 4-1/2". I laid the dino on the center to see where I needed to stamp the rocks on the left.  I also set the words in place and stamped both the rocks and words at the same time. Then I colored those rocks in.

Dimensionals were added to all of the die cut pieces and they were set in place on the front of the card. I took my Basic Black marker and drew the balloon string on. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I love the greens on the dino, it's bright and cheery. I went with a yellow balloon so it could be for a boy or girl who love dinos!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's children's birthday card,

Darling Dinos, Children's Birthday Cards, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a children's birthday card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. I clicked on the link and got some help with the colors but that was about it. I did change it a little. You can see the original card here

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Summer Splash card stock for the layer. And on top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock.

For the diamond shape on the Basic White layer I made a template. I don't know if there's a diamond shape die cut, I am not familiar with all of the Stampin' Up! products. So making a template was the best way to go for me. Here's how I made mine. I took a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of copier paper and I folded it in half on the long side. I opened it up and folded it on the short side. You want to open it up because just folding it in half and then folding the half in half will cause the piece to shift a bit.  I opened the piece up. On the long side I made a mark 3/8" in on each side and on the short side (top and bottom) I made a mark 1/2" in. I set the piece in my paper cutter and cut from mark to mark. Then I took this template and set it on top of a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of card stock and traced the diamond and then I cut it out. I wanted a stiffer template plus one that didn't have fold marks on it. I didn't want to take any chances on the ink going under the copier paper.  Once the template was done I lined it up with a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock and colored it in using my Blending Brush and Summer Splash ink. After reading about the making of the original card, Balmy Blue was used for the diamond. Either one works.

The only things I bought for the in colors is ink pads and card stock. I don't purchase the Blending Brushes or markers, it's just too expensive. So since I didn't have the Summer Splash marker I used my Coastal Cabana marker and it matched well enough that no one will notice the color difference.

Once the diamond was done being stitched around I stamped the hearts.

The dino and balloon from the "Darling Dinos" bundle. I stamped them using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. Using the matching dies I cut them out.

I took my Blender pen and colored the dino in using Summer Splash ink. I did have the Lemon Lime Twist Blends Pen so I colored in the rest of the dino using it.

The balloon was colored in using Petunia Pop ink. I still had my Blender pen out so I thought I'd use it. I forgot how fun it was to use the Blender pen.

Dimensionals were added behind the dino and balloon and it was set in place on the front of the card. I took my Basic Black marker and drew the balloon string.

The words are from the same set and were stamped using Summer Splash ink. I cut them out using a die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I snipped the left side to make it fit the card.

For the embellishments I had some very old rain drops so I thought I'd use them. The two in the diamond blended well enough but the one on the white part didn't so I took my Blender pen and made little "Summer Splash" circles. I glued the rain drops to them and the color came through and it looks SO much better. I'm so happy I figured that out because I have lots of rain drops to use up!

This was a fun card to make. I love dinosaurs and these little guys are SO cute!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's children's birthday card,

Simply Said, Wildflower Birthday, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pool Party card stock for the layer. I textured it using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued it to the card base.

Then I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Wildflower Birthday" 12" x 12" package. I glued it to the top of the textured Pool Party piece.

Next came the focal piece. Using the "Countryside Corners" die set I cut the second larges one using Pool Party card stock.

I took a piece of Basic White card stock and using the third largest die I cut it and then textured it using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued the two pieces together.

The cake is from the "Wildflower Birthday" package. Dimenisonals were added to the back and it was set in place on the top of the die cut layers.

I stamped the words from the "Simply Said" set on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the die from the "Heart Shaped" set. A Dimensional was added to each end and a little bit of glue was added to the stem of the cake plate. The words were set in place and the card was done.

This cake doesn't have any candles so it would be a great wedding card too (changing the colors up a bit).

I loved how quickly this card went together, it was so easy to make.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Delightful Wishes, Spotlight on Nature, Labeled With Love, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you using the "Delightful Wishes" bundle. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Old Olive card stock for the layer. In the center of that piece I cut the large Old Olive circle from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. And from the center of that circle I cut the smaller circle under the birthday greeting. Talk about making use of all of a quarter sheet of card stock! But with the rising prices of things, you have to. And Stampin' Up! will be raising the cost of their card stock in the new catalog. SO if you can, stock up now. I think it's around $2 or more per package. And Basic White and Very Vanilla are going to go from 40 sheets to 24 sheets. OUCH! This is why I tend to make my cards with a White base and add my colors on top of that. Fortunately I have a LOT of white so I'm good there. So cutting your layers from other layers on your card makes a whole lot more sense now!

Anyway, I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Floral Delight" 12" x 12" package, it measures 3-3/4" x 5". I taped it to the Old Olive layer and then that was taped to the card base.

The flowers are from the "Delightful Wishes" bundle and were stamped using Lemon Lolly for the main petals and Daffodil Delight for the details. The branch was stamped using Pecan Pie and the leaves are stamped using Old Olive. I cut them out using a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. I glued it to the large Old Olive circle. I used glue because there isn't a lot on the large circle to tape, plus the glue allows me to slide it around a bit to get it centered. Once glued I taped the piece to the front of the card.

The word piece was taped to the small Old Olive circle. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I added  three crystal rhinestones that I had colored using my dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen. And the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. Though I think the flowers could have been done using Daffodil Delight for the solid part and Crushed Curry for the details. They would blend better with the DSP.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Wildflower Birthday, Labeled With Love, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another birthday card to share with you using the "Wildflower Birthday" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP). Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a Pool Part card stock at 3-3/4" x 5" before I taped it to the card base I used the second and third largest rectangle dies from the "Nested Essentials" die set. I taped the dies so they wouldn't shift so I could cut out a frame. You also get the center part cut out but it can be saved for a future card (someday!). Once cut I taped it to the card base.

Next I cut a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and using my Blending Brush I scrubbed on some Pool Party ink over the are where the window will go. You can scrub all over the place but be careful not to color too close to the edge, you want to keep that white.

The DSP was cut next. It measures 4-1/4" x 3". I took the third largest die from the "Nested Essentials" set and cut out the window.

I glued the Pool Party frame over the DSP window. Then I taped the piece to the Basic White piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on top of the Pool Party piece.

The words are from the "Labeled with Love" bundle and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Blueberry Bushell ink. I fussy cut around them. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the right side of the card and the card was done!

This card has a lot of layers but they are SO worth it. I really like how it turned out.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Wildflower Birthday, Unbounded Love, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. There are SO many fun images in the "Wildflower Birthday" 12" x 12" package. I found this card on Instagram, I don't usually look there but I think there was a link that lead me to that page. You can see the original card here.  Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Pretty in Pink card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

I cut another 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and textured it using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card. If you want to save card stock you can cut this piece in half to it measures 4" x 2-5/8".

A 2-5/8" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) was cut from the "Wildflower Birthday" package. The words are from the "Unbounded Love" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink. Then it was glued to the textured piece of Basic White. If  you're cutting your Basic White piece in half you are going to want to make sure you butt the DSP tightly to it.

The cake is from the same package of DSP. It came from a whole sheet of die cut images. This cake is so pretty and I thought I would look for a card to make using it. You get 2 per package! The cake was set in place using Dimensionals.

The tassel banner on the upper right corner is from the same sheet and it was set in place using Dimensionals. I snipped the ends after I set it in place.

A few rhinestones were added to the front. They are retired but it was what I had on hand.  And that was it, the card was done.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Cheerful Daisies, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can view it here. There were no instructions as to how it was made so please read on to see how I put this card together.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the layer. Using my Blending Brush I scrubbed on some Boho Blue ink. I left the upper left corner white.

I took a half-sheet of Basic White card stock and cut the flowers using the dies from the "Cheerful Daisies" bundle. I cut two sets plus an extra middle small flower, including the center detailed pieces. I snipped the leaves off and I cut the flowers apart. I also cut one ferny looking piece too.

The flower centers were glued to the flower pieces. A Dimensional was added to the bottom right flower and everthing else was tucked under and glued in place.

I stamped the words from the same bundle using Boho Blue ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out usign a die in the bundle.

A bow was tied from some ribbon. Mine is retired but it matched so I went with it. I set the ribbon in place using a glue dot.

The words were added by placing a Dimensional on each end and a bit of glue in the center.  And that was it, the card was done.

There's quite a few pieces to this card but it was so worth it, plus it was pretty simple to do and I'm pleased at the way it turned out.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Storytime Moments, Storybook Friends, Thinking of You Card, Mother's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I don't know what to use it for. Birthday? Thinking of you? Mother's Day? Just a note? I'm sure I'll figure out something but as of this posting I have no idea yet, it just isn't speaking to me. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and I scored it at every 1/4". I started in the middle and scored the right and then the left. I glued this to the card base.

Next came the "envelope flap" part. It was a bit tricky and I messed up a few times. I took a piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Storytime Moments" 12" x 12" package and cut it at 5-1/4" x 2". I marked the bottom center at 2-5/8" and I marked each side at 1". I cut each side. I cut from the right mark to the center mark and then I cut the left side from the mark to the center.

For the layer behind the flap I cut a 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Lost Lagoon card stock and I taped the DSP to it leaving 1/4" at the top and I trimmed the bottom edges to 1/4" from the DSP. I glued this piece to the front of the card about 1/4" from the fold at the top.

The fancy frame is from the "Storybook Friends" bundle. I cut it using a piece of Lost Lagoon. The center is a piece of Basic White that I had saved from another frame I had cut a while back. Taking my Blending Brush I scrubbed on some Pool Party ink. Then I glued the frame to the center of the card and then I glued the oval in place.

Searching through the cute critters in the "Storybook Moments" I ran across this knitting one. I thought she was cute and the colors in it went well with the flap. I set it in place using Dimensionals.

I cut the word label from the "Heart Shaped" bundle because I liked the shape of it. But I didn't know what to stamp on it. I am leaning towards "thinking of you" or "Happy Mother's Day". It looks like a mom sitting there but because it's looking off to the right I leaned more towards "thinking of you". As of the posting of this I haven't decided yet.

This was a fun card to make. I like the score lines, it gave it a fun background without it being just smooth white.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's card,

Cheerful Daisies, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest. I wanted to make it because I figured this set would be retiring in a few months and I wanted to play with it a bit more. It's such a wonderful set to play with.

You can see the original card here. If you click through there is a link to the site that has a video on how to make the card. I like videos but I prefer written instructions because they can often seem easier to follow. Plus there's no chit chat and other things going on. Just the instructions. So, please read on to see how I put the card together.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the layer. I used the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder for my card. I glued it to the card base.

Next you will need to make a ring by using two circle dies. I used the two largest ones in the "Stylish Shapes" set on Basic White card stock. I lined them up as well as I could to make the ring. It doesn't need to be perfect because 95% of it will be covered. Small pieces of Dimensionals were added to the ring and it was then set in place on the front of the card. Equal spacing on the sides and about 7/8" from the top edge of the card base.

Two sets of flowers were cut from the "Cheerful Daisies" bundle using Basic White card stock. These flowers are the ones on the one die. Then the flower centers were cut. I used a double-sided sheet and attached it to a 1/4 sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut the detailed parts of the three flowers.

The centers of both the detailed pieces and the three flowers (6 all together) were colored by lightly using Flirty Flamingo ink. Using a dauber works best for this. I have small 3/8" round blending brushes that worked well for me.

Using scissors I cut the three flowers from the large piece, and I cut off the leaves too. Clean up the flowers so those cut off pieces are no longer visible. Then the detailed parts were glued to the larger parts of the flowers. I set them aside to set up.

I had also cut a ferny looking piece from Basic White card stock. I colored it using Soft Sea Foam ink with my Blending Brush.

The leaves (two sets) were colored in using a Blending Brush and Soft Sea Foam ink.

Now it's time to add the flowers. I started out with the two largest ones. Then the ones with a "sideview" was added and then the small full flowers were added. You can set them on the circle for placement before you glue them down, that way you can see if there's any big gaps exposing the ring that need to be covered. There's a little bit of the ring showing on my card but you really have to look to see it.

Once the flowers were in place I added the leaves and the ferny looking piece using a bit of glue.

Then I took some white Baker's Twine and made 4 figure 8's and tied them in a knot in the center. A glue dot was added to the back of the bow. I set it across the flowers on the right, somewhere in the center area of that side.

The words are from the same "Cheerful Daisies" bundle and were stamped using Flirty Flamingo ink. I cut them with a die in the same bundle. The Dimensionals were doubled and then added to each end and it was set in place over the flowers. You want to make sure your flowers aren't under the Dimensionals. To avoid this, you can move the bow if necessary. Or you can add the Dimensionals to the textured layer and then add the word piece on top of that. I had to move my bow a little after I had set it in place with the glue dot. Those dots are very sticky and I had to be careful not to rip the paper removing it. Though it wouldn't show if I had because it would still be under the word piece. But I was able to remove it with no issues. I never press down on my glue dots or Dimensionals until the card is completely finished. I never know when I need to move or remove something. Once the word piece was added the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. It sure had a lot of pieces but it was SO worth it.  Isn't it pretty?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Heart Shaped, Starstruck, Unbounded Love, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Petunia Pop card stock for the layer. On top of that is a Basic White piece of card stock that measures 3-3/4" x 5".  I textured it using the "Starstruck" embossing folder (soon to retire). But before I textured it I stamped the heart image from the "Heart Shaped" bundle using Petunia Pop ink.

Once the piece was textured I glued it to the Petunia Pop piece and then that was taped to the card base.

Next I cut out a heart from a scrap piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Unbounded Beauty" 12" x 12" package. Three of the little flowers were cut from DSP and one from a scrap piece of Petunia Pop card stock. If you don't have a scrap piece you can cut from the center of the 4" x 5-1/5" piece before the Basic White textured piece is glued on. I cut the leaves using a die in the same bundle on a piece of Basic White card stock that had some Granny Apple Green ink scrubbed on it with a Blending Brush.

The words are from the "Unbounded Love" bundle and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I cut them out using a die from the "Nested Essentials" set, not remembering (or even looking) that the "Unbounded Love" bundle has some cute dies. Oh well, next time! Anyway, I cut the words out and added Dimensionals to the back.

I added the three little flowers on the left using small Dimensionals. Then I set the word piece in place. I added a flower to it too. Pearls were added to the centers of each flower and the card was done.

I am going to miss this set but I'll probably make more cards with it at a later date. I had a lot of fun playing with it during Sale-a-Brations. I think Sale-a-Brations should last longer than 2 months. By the time we order and get the items it's not even 2 months. But it is what it is. Anyway, I did have a fun time making this card and I like how quick it went together too.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Wildflower Birthday, Calendar Page, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today, you guessed it, I have the March calendar for you. You can get a PDF of the months by clicking here at Lynette's "My Stamping Addiction" blog. It's right at the top under the title of her blog. You can get there easily by clicking here.  Please read on to see how I made my calendar page.

My measurements are a bit different because, for some reason I had an issue with the printing but they are close enough for my comfort. After cutting March from the sheet of card stock that I ran through my printer, it measured 3-3/8" x 4-7/8". I believe it's supposed to be 3-1/2" x 5".  So it's pretty close.

There's not a whole lot that goes into making the header for the calendar. I took a piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Wildflower Birthday" 12" x 12" package. This came from a sheet that has a quite a few different designs on it. I can't tell you how many because I cut up both of my sheets and I've used some on other cards. But there's a lot of fun pieces to play with. This piece had a gold strip across the top on the short side and the corners could be snipped to make a flap. I cut that gold strip off entirely. My piece measures 3-1/8" x 2-1/8" and I taped it to the upper part of the calendar.

Next I took some flowers and leaves from the same package of DSP. These are on a sheet that's full of fun pre-cut images. I added a Dimensional to the center of the pink flower and set it in place in the middle of the piece of DSP.

Tape was added to the back of the other two flowers and they were slipped under the pink flower. And I did the same with the leaves.

And that was it. Super quick and simple. I look forward to making these calendar pages, they are a nice change of pace and are quick. By the end of the month I'm looking for something that is quick and easy to do. It frees up some time so I can clean up some of the crafting messes I make. I need a month of "end of the months" LOL.

A little tip here, if your printer can handle it, I recommend using the thick card stock. But if your not sure and don't what to chance ruining your printer, print it out on regular card stock and tape or glue another piece behind it when you're done cutting it out. And another option is to print it out on copier paper and glue it to a piece of thick card stock or even shirt board/chipboard  (the stuff that cereal boxes are made of but use the unprinted side). Using a thicker copier paper works well too before gluing it to the card stock or shirt board/chipboard. I use 28#. I make sure that what I print on that paper is worthy of it because anything above 20# is way more expensive. There, it's that enough tips for you to work with?  LOL There's almost always a way to work things out!

How about one more? Once the month is done and you've made a new one, you can cut off the top part of the calendar and use that on a card! Why not, you've already put the work into it! Okay, done giving tips (for now!).

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's calendar page,
Wanda
