Heart Shaped, Simply Said, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you using the "Heart Shaped"  bundle. I found it on Pinterest and I changed it a little. You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Pretty in Pink card stock for the layer. On top of that is a 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" piece of Basic White card stock. When I cut the white piece I moved the edge of the card stock over the line so it was just a hair smaller than the measurements I posted. I didn't want a tiny sliver of the pink showing but I didn't want a 1/4" either. So I just cheat the line a bit on the cutter and get what I'm looking for.

I taped the pink and white piece together in the area where the circle is going to be cut out and I cut them together. I wanted to make sure they would be lined up nicely when I'm ready to glue them together. Once cut I textured the Basic White piece using the "Dotted Circles" embossing folder. I lined up the card stock on the folder so I could get it centered around the circle of dots as much as possible. Once embossed I glued it to the Pretty in Pink piece and I set it aside.

My little flowers were cut from the die in the "Heart Shaped" bundle. I cut three of them. I had made my own colored sheet of card stock using Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Petunia Pop, and Pretty in Pink inks. After cutting them out I cut the leaves in the bundle using Granny Apple Green card stock.

Next I set the Pretty in Pink layered piece on top of the card base so I could see where to stamp the heart. The heart was stamped using Pretty in Pink ink. Then I cut a piece of Basic White card stock that I colored using Granny Apple Green ink and my Blending Brush. I glued the die cut heart over the stamped heart.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the Pretty in Pink piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the die in the "Heart Shaped" bundle. Dimensionals were added to the back of it and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I set the flowers in place using Dimensionals. I colored 3 pearls using my dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen and set them in place on the center of each flower. I glued in the Granny Apple Green leaves I cut and the card was done.

The placement of my flowers is different than the original card because my die slipped a little when I was cutting it and it didn't have complete leaves on that side. But moving the flowers to that side hid the error and I was able to use the heart. I was glad I was able to use it because I really didn't want to color another piece. (SO LAZY!  LOL)!

This was a fun card to make. I love the looks of it and I especially love the circle opening on the embossed piece.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
