The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Take to the Sky" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the card base.
I added a 3/4" x 5-1/4" piece of vellum to the left side. I didn't want to add ribbon because it caused the card to need extra postage. Now the glue shows up on the pic but in real life it's not that noticeable.
Next I cut three 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" pieces of Basic White card stock to stamp the gulls on. They were stamped using black Memento ink. Each are layered on top of a 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" piece of Pool Party card stock. I taped them after coloring.
I colored the gulls my Blends pens. I used light Pool Party, light Smoky Slate, and dark Daffodil Delight. I used light Lemon Lolly for the fries in the one gull's mouth. I also stamped the birds in the sky using black Memento ink.
My card varies with the placement of the squares. I laid out how they are to be on the front of the card and then I turned them over. I taped the edges together. Then I added double-sided tape to the piece(s) and set it in place on the front of the card. The original card has spaces between the squares. I did it this way because it was easier for me and I think it looks just as nice.
The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the second smallest die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I added the words using Dimensionals and the card was done.
This was a very quick and easy card to make. I'm going to miss this set when it retires. It's so fun and easy to work with. There's not a lot of coloring to do on it which helps making card quicker.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
