Friendly Seagulls, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. I changed it just a little. You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how I put it together.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

For the layers I cut a 4-1/2" x 2-3/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Timeless Plaid" 6" x 6" stack.

The next piece cut was the Basic White one that measures 3" x 3-3/4". I textured it using the Sale-a-Bration "Starstruck" embossing folder.

Another piece of DSP from the same package was cut at 1-1/2" x 3".  I glued this to the textured piece. Then I glued that to the large piece of DSP. Make sure you don't put any glue on 5/8" of the right side.

I cut a stitched circle using the 3rd die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I glued that to the front of the card about 1-1/2" from the top edge of the card base.

The gull from the "Friendly Seagulls" set was stamped using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I fussy cut it out and then colored it using my light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen for the beak and feet, dark Daffodil Delight for the fries, light Smoky Slate for the wings and tail feathers and light Gray Granite for the strips on the wings. I usually color first and then cut because if I mess it up coloring I didn't waste any time cutting. But I broke with my usual MO and cut first. I taped the gull to the circle about 1/4" from the bottom edge of the circle.

The words were typed on my computer using "Candy Buzz BTN font at 18pt. in bold.  I printed it out on Basic White card stock. I cut them into strips and snipped them on each end. I glued them in place on the front of the card and the card was done. I didn't add any embellishments because I'm sending this off in the mail and I didn't want to pay any extra postage.

I REALLY like this layout and I'm thinking how fun this would be for my Christmas cards this year. I want to get an early start on them because I end up waiting too long and then I'm late in getting them out and I'm adding to the stress of the holiday. SO hopefully I can get some make ahead of time and lessen the stress. Wish me luck on that task! LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
