Delightful Wishes, Simply Said, Birthday Card, Gift Card Holder, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday gift card holder card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a 1/4 sheet of Daffodil Delight card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Old Olive card stock and on top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Floral Delight" 12" x 12" package. I taped the layers together.

Next I cut the gift card holder piece. The main part is Basic White and it was cut at 4" x 9".  I scored it at 3" and 6" and then I folded it mountain on the left fold and valley on the right fold.

On the front I cut a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of DSP and taped it to the front of the 9" piece. That would be the left side of the piece. The words were stamped from the "Simply Said" set using Old Olive ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut then out using the 3rd largest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I took my Old Olive marker and using the belly part of the brush side, I went around the edge of the circle. I cut a flower from the "Delightful Wishes" bundle using Daffodil Delight card stock. The center detailed piece was cut using Crushed Curry card stock. I glued the detailed piece to the solid part of the flower. I colored some tiny crystal rhinestones using my dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen. I let them sit for a minute and then set 4 of them in place on the center of the flower. I set the circle in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

Now let's move on to the inside left side (the center of the piece). This is where the pocket for the gift card is going to be. I cut a 3-3/4" x 3" piece of Basic White card stock. I scored the right and left side at 1/4".  I used a circle punch to punch out the top edge so it's easier to take the gift card out. I used a 1-3/8" punch because it was what was sitting on my worktable. After cutting the top edge, I added glue to the sides and bottom edge. I set it in place on the card. On top of the holder I cut a 2-5/8" 2-1/4" piece of DSP and taped it to the front of the pocket. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I love making gift card holder cards. You get both a greeting card and a gift card holder all in one. No more gift cards falling out when the card is opened.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
