The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.
A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock was cut for the layer. On top of that is a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Bloom Impressions" 12" x 12" package from the Sale-a-Brations catalog. There's SO many pretty papers in that package. I taped it to the Blackberry Bliss piece and then I taped that to the card base.
I cut the circle using a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle.
The cake layers were added next. They are from the "Cake Celebrations" bundle. I stamped the bottom layer first. The bottom of that piece is 1" from the bottom of the circle. It's stamped using Petunia Pop ink that was stamped off once. Then the top layer of the cake was added stamping off once on it too. The details on the cake, the frosting was done using Petunia Pop ink straight, no stamping off.
The candles are stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink and Daffodil Delight was used to stamp the flames.
The base the cake is sitting on was cut using a die from the "Cake Celebrations" bundle using a piece of Gray Granite card stock. Using my Blending Brush I added some Gray Granite ink. I taped it in place.
Three flowers were stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink. They were cut out using the matching die. I set them in place using a Dimensional behind each one. I didn't press them down firmly, I needed to leave room to add the leaf.
In the "Cake Celebration" bundle there is a leaf, I cut one using Garden Green card stock.
The words are from the "Simply Said" set using Blackberry Bliss on a piece of Petunia Pop card stock. I used a die from the "Beautiful Butterflies" bundle. I snipped the end and set it in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.
I added some retired embellishments to the center of the flowers and in that set were some that were a bit larger. I set them in place on the circle and that was it, the card was done.
This was a fun card to make. I love the bright colors though I think I would make the word piece smaller should I make another card in the future. And I'm SO happy that I have my sister's card done early! Such a great feeling.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
