Happy Hibiscus, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock that was textured using the "Happy Hibiscus" hybrid embossing folder. I glued it to the card base.

Next I took another piece of Basic White card stock and embossed it with the same folder. Then I cut out the flowers with the matching die. I'm not really sure how this die and folder are supposed to work together. Once they were cut they were a bit flat so I put them back in the folder. They just slid into place so I didn't have to be concerned about double embossing on them. Once they were embossed (again) I took my Blending Brushes and brushed on some Bubble Bath ink first and then on then on the very edges I brushed on some Flirty Flamingo. I used my dark Lemon Lolly Blends pen and colored the centers of the flowers.

The leaves were die cut and then colored by brushing on some Granny Apple Green ink.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the large flower. I set it in place but I didn't push it down to secure it. I needed it loose so I could slip the other elements under it as needed. I glued the flowers and then the leaves were added last.

The words were done on my computer. They were just sitting around on my worktable and I thought I'd just use them. Had I not used them I would have used the words from the "Simply Said" set.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make. I love the soft look of it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

So pretty. I like the die-cut embossing. I don't have any of those, but I sure like them.
