The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock that was textured using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card.
Next I cut a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Basic White for the top layer.
The flowers are from the "Enduring Beauty" bundle. I stamped the image using black Memento ink. Then I got my Blending Brushes and ink pads out. I used Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive inks. There are masks in the bundle and they are numbered. You just line up the parts on the mask and scrub on the color. I tape my masks down with removable tape and I did tape down my stamped image so it wouldn't move on me while I was adding the color. A little tip here. If you're going to use the masks to color your flowers, make more than one. You're getting them all inked up so why not. You have to rinse them off when you are done. I make 8 but only colored 4. I'll color the other 4 some other day. I did color the leaves though so all I will need to color is the flowers.
Looking at the original card, I cut the flower in half and taped the bottom piece in place. On the upper piece I used Dimensionals. I did click through the link to the blog and it shows the piece cut in half plus there were a little bundle of flowers cut off too. I did cut them but since I put my wording in the middle I could have left the flowers. Next time I'll check first! But it's still pretty without them.
Once the flowers were added I stamped the words from the "Labeled With Love" set using black Memento ink.
I glued the flower piece on top of the textured Crumb Cake piece and the card was done.
This was a fun card to make. I love how elegant it looks.
Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
