The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I often use Basic White for my card base because it's a less expensive to make. I just make up the difference by cutting the layer on top of the card base just a little bit smaller.
A 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Lemon Lolly was cut next. And then a piece of Old Olive was cut 4" x 5-1/4" Now I'm at the same size layer as the original card and I can continue on with any listed measurements. There was no info on how to make this card so I just winged it. I took the Old Olive piece and cut the "wishing" word from the center. It's part of the "Delightful Wishes" bundle. I also cut the layer behind the words using the matching die and Basic White card stock. I put some glue on my silicone pad and took a sponge to tap on some glue to the back of the words. Then I set them in place on the Basic White layer. Normally I would use a piece of a double-sided sticky sheet but I forgot, but the sponge and glue worked just fine. Dimensionals were added to the back, except for the upper part of the "h" and the piece was set aside.
The words on the bottom are from the "Floral Delight" bundle and were stamped using Old Olive ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them using the matching die in the bundle. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece as set aside.
Next came the Designer Series Paper (DSP). It's from the "Floral Delight" 12" x 12" package. I was gifted a 4" x 6" piece of each design. I am going to have to order this paper, it's SO pretty. I cut my DSP to measure 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". I cut two pieces of different designs at that size. Just like yesterday's card I am able to make two cards using this layout. On the long side I cut the DSP at 3". The DSP was then glued to the Old Olive piece.
I had some yellow 1/8" ribbon so I cut it 5" long and wrapped it around to the back and taped it in place. Then I taped the Old Olive piece to the Lemon Lolly piece. That was then taped to the front of the card base.
The flower image was stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using Lemon Lolly ink for the solid part of the flower, Daffodil Delight for the detailed part, Pecan Pie for the stem and Old Olive for the leaves. I cut the circle out using a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on front of the card.
Once the floral piece was set in place I set the "YOU A HAPPY BIRTHDAY" piece in place at the bottom of the card. Then the "wishing" piece was set in place. I used a little glue on the upper part of the "h".
I slipped a piece of ribbon under the strip of ribbon, I tied a knot and trimmed the ends.
A cute little bee from the "Tiny Bee Trinkets" container was glued in place on the left side of the circle and a couple of sequins from the "Itty Bitty Bokeh Mix" container were glued on the right side. And that was it, the card was done.
This was a fun card to make. I should say cards. I did make two at the same time.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
