The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Berry Burst for the layer. On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Pretty Peacock that was textured using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder.
A 5" x 1-3/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Regal Winter" 12" x 12" package was cut for the strip on the left. I also cut a 5" x 1/2" strip of Berry Burst for the right edge of the DSP strip. I wanted to give it that look of looking like it was layered all around. Now if you are more efficient than I am you can cut your DSP and the strip, tape them together as I did but the textured Pretty Peacock piece could be cut at 1-7/8" x 5". I glued down the Pretty Peacock piece and then I glued the strip to the top of that piece.
I cut a 3" x 3" piece of Berry Burst, a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Pretty Peacock and a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" piece of Basic White for the top three layers. On the Basic White piece I stamped the words from the "Labeled with Love" bundle. The three pieces were taped together and glued to the front of the card.
Next I stamped the flowers and greenery. The flowers are from the "Regal Floral" bundle and were stamped using Berry Burst ink. One set of leaves were stamped using Pretty Peacock ink and the other was stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink. I cut them out using the matching dies in the bundle. I added a little tape to the bottom of the stems and set them in place behind the flowers. I thought the piece needed something so I used my Wink of Stella pen and colored over each leaf and petal. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the bottom right area of the square layered piece.
I thought the flowers needed something in the centers so I found some enamel dots from the "It's My Party" package (dating back to 2016 - VERY retired!) and I set one of the pink colored dots in the center of each flower. They blended in well and I was glad I was able to use them. I have a lot more to use and I have a lot more cards to make so there's hope for that package yet! LOL
This was a fun and simple card to make. I'm sure it will brighten the day of the one who receives it.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
