Sophisticated Sled, Snowflake Sky, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you. I found this card on Pinterest but I can't locate again. It was made by Terri Gaines but I changed it a little. She has a fancy fold and I just made a regular card with it and I added the wording. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Smoky Slate for the layer.  Using the skate laces die from the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle I cut it from the center of the piece. I set it aside.

Next I took a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Snowflake Sky" embossing folder. Then I cut the piece at 3-3/4" and I left the length. I cut tore the bottom area in two places. I glued the top part down first, then the middle piece. Make sure you overlap the middle piece on top of the upper piece. And then add the bottom piece so the whole thing measures 5" long. The piece was then taped to the front of the card.

The sled was cut next. The runner was cut using Early Espresso card stock and the bed of the sled was cut using Pecan Pie card stock. I glued the pieces together and then I glued it to the front of the card.

I cut the skates from scraps of Basic White card stock and the blades were cut from some silver card stock. I glued the blades on and then I added a little bit of glue and slipped the lace piece in place. Dimensionals were added to the back and they were set in place on the front of the card.

A double bow of linen thread was tied and glued in place at the top of the sled runner.

The words are from the same "Sophisticated Sled" and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Real Red ink. I cut then out using the "Perennial Postage" die set. The words were set in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I love the look of it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
