Wild Flower, Wildly Flowering, Simply Said, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I was thinking that I probably should be making fall cards but this package of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Wildly Flowering" 12" x 12" package fell on the floor and I took it as a sign to use it since it was pretty full. I found a card on Pinterest that I thought would be a fun and easy card to make. You can see the original card here.  Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was taped to the inside.

On the front I stamped the floral image from the "Wildflower Designs" bundle using Crumb Cake ink. I only stamped around the outer edge since the center will be covered.

The Misty Moonlight layer was cut at 3-1/4" x 4-1/4". The Basic White layer on top of that was cut at 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" and the DSP from the "Wildly Flowering" package was cut at 3" x 4".

A 3" x 1" piece of DSP was cut from the same package for the strip at the bottom. I taped the DSP to the Basic White layer. Then I added some tape to the back to hold down the ends of the linin thread and I wrapped it around the card twice. I use scotch tape to hold it down. Then I added tape to the back and set it in place on the top of the Mist Moonlight piece. Tape was added to the back of that and it was set in place on the front of the card. I centered mine just by eyeing it. If you want to measure just add the piece about 5/8" from the top and bottom and 1/2" from the sides.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Basic Gray ink. They were left over from a prior card. I found it on my worktable so I thought I'd use it. If I were to make a fresh one I'd use Misty Moonlight ink. The piece was cut out using the "Layered with Love" bundle. I set the piece in place using Dimenisonals and the card was done. The original card added some embellishments but I chose not to since I am going to mail mine and I didn't want to pay the extra money for it being non-machinable.

This was a fun card to make, it was quick, simple and easy. It's a fun layout and can be used with lots of other packages of DSP.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
