Sophisticated Sled, Stylish Shapes, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest and you can see the original card here. I couldn't find any instructions so I went with how I felt it was made. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and stamped the wreath from the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle using Soft Sea Foam ink that was stamped off once. I added Dimensionals to the back and set the piece in place on the front of the card.

Next the sled was made. I used Early Espresso card stock for the runner and Pecan Pie for the body. I glued the pieces of the sled together. DImensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

The wreath was made next by using a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock and stamping the wreath image using Garden Green card stock. I cut it out with the matching die. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on top of the sled.

The words are from the same bundle and were stamped using Pecan Pie ink on a scrap piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock. I cut them out using the largest ribbon die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I cut them so the words were on the far right of the die cut. I snipped off the left side about 1/4" from the edge  of the words. I taped the word piece in place on top of the card about 1-1/2" up from the bottom and the tips are even with the right edge of the 4" x 5-1/4" layer. 

I removed the backing on the Dimensionals on the sled and set it in place. I lined up the runner with the bottom left corner of the word piece and then angled the sled until it was almost touching the words. 

Pearls were colored in using the dark Cherry Cobbler Blends pen and set in place on the wreath. 

A Baker's Twine bow was tied and set in place using a little bit of glue. You can also use a glue dot but you need to roll it up a bit because it's too big. I do prefer the glue myself.  And that was it, the card was done.

I always forget about making my own background using images from the sets. I guess I've been spoiled by the Designer Series Papers.  This was a fun card to make and I'll add it to my stack of cards for our family Christmas ones for this year. I used to send out the same card to everyone but now I'm just going to use what I make from now until December 1st. Hope I can get enough done by then so they can get mailed out in time! Wish me luck there (LOTS of luck! LOL).
