Grassy Grove, Thoughtful Journey, Get Well Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a very fun card to share with you. I saw something like this on the net but I can't remember where. It was done using an oval die. I don't have an oval die so I used what I had. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 1/4 sheet of Boho Blue card stock and textured it using the "Forever Plaid" embossing folder. I cut it to 4" x 5-1/4" and glued it to the front of the card.

Next using a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock I cut the trees from the "Grassy Grove" bundle. Then I took a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Thoughtful Journey" 6" x 6" stack. I glued the tree piece to the DSP. It was a bit of a challenge to find just the right spot to set the trees in place. Too many pretty choices. Once it was glued I used the largest circle from the "Stylish Shapes" set and cut it out.

I had cut two deers, one was from Early Espresso card stock and the one I used is from Pecan Pie card stock. I glued the deer in place. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

The words were done on my computer and were printed out on a piece of Basic White card stock. Actually I duplicated the words and printed a sheet of them. I'm in the need of a lot of get well cards. I cut the words out using the die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. The Fresh Freesia piece was cut using a die from that same set. I taped the two pieces together and set it in place on the front of the card. I added Dimensionals to the left side and tape to the right.

The dots on the card are from the retired "Candy Dots" package. I have SO many of these embellishments left and I need to use them up. I colored them using my dark Mossy Meadow Blends pen. It didn't color very well so I just dotted the pen tip on them. It gave them a textured look. Using what I have and trying to use things up.

This was a fun card to make and I do like how it turned out. It's different and that's what makes it fun.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's get well card,
Wanda
