Choose Happy, Unbounded Love, Autumn Leaves, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Halloween card to share with you. I didn't purchase any Halloween sets this time around because I don't have a need for a lot of them. But I did have a set that I was able to make it work. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Pumpkin Pie card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and I taped it to the inside.

Next I cut a 3-1/2" x 4-5/8" piece of Basic White for the bottom layer.

Peach Pie card stock was used for the layer behind the Designer Series Paper (DSP) which is from the "Flowering Zinnias" 12" x 12" package. The Peach Pie piece measures 3" x 4-1/8" and the DSP was cut at 2-7/8" x 4".  I added a little bit of tape about1-1/2" down on the piece of DSP. Then I lined the DSP on top of the Peach Pie piece. Using a circle punch or die the opening was made. I used a 1-1/4" punch to punch through both pieces at the same time. You will need a piece of scrap copier paper. I fold mine in half so it's double thick and I set it behind the opening on the piece of DSP. Using a 1-3/8" punch I punched a ring from the DSP. You can use other sized and shapes too. I made a card using the "Nested Essentials" die set and it looked nice. Using larger dies or punches allows you to use larger images (kind of goes without saying, huh? LOL).  Once I got the circles made I taped the two pieces together.

The pumpkin was stamped next. It is from the "Choose Happy" set. I stamped it on a 2" x 2" piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. Then I stamped the face using the same ink. I colored in the pumpkin using both light and dark Pumpkin Pie Blends pen. The stem was colored in using the dark Old Olive Blends pen.

Dimensionals were added around the circle on the back of the Peach Pie piece. The pumpkin image was set in place over the opening. Then Dimensionals were added to the rest of the Peach Pie piece and some double sided tape was added to the stamped piece. Then it was et in place on top of the Basic White layer on the front of the card.

The words were done on my computer because I didn't have anything in my workroom that read "Happy Halloween". I used the color code for Old Olive and I printed it out on a piece of Basic White card stock. Then it was cut using the die from the "Unbounded Love" bundle. Dimensionals were added to the back. I removed the backing and set the piece on top of the card but I didn't press down.

The leaves are from the "Autumn Leaves" bundle and were cut from a piece of DSP from the "Oxidized Copper" 12" x 12" package. I added tape to the back and slipped them under the word piece. I pressed down on the word piece and then on the leaves.  And that was it, the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. This is one of my favorite layouts to use for smaller images.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Halloween card,
Wanda
