Autumn Leaves, Simply Said, Meandering Meadows, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun framed card to share with you. I have often made ones like this using two circle dies but today I used rectangle ones. It's so easy to do and I think I like it much better than the circles because there's more to see in the larger area. Though I do the circles using tiny stamps/images because it somehow makes that little image look larger.  Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Garden Green card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Garden Green and Basic White card stock. I taped the Basic White piece inside the card and the Garden Green piece I cut the window using the second largest die in the "Nested Essentials" set. Then I textured it using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I was looking for a different folder but I couldn't find it so I just went with this one. Which is okay but not what I had in mind. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

Next I took a 3-3/4" x 3" piece of Garden Green card stock and I cut the second largest rectangle from the same set.

The pretty image is from the "Meandering Meadows" Designer Series Paper (DSP) 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to the backside of the 3-3/4" x 3" Garden Green piece.

I removed the backing from the Dimensionals and I hovered over the DSP and when I saw what I liked in the opening I set it down on top to set it in place. I added tape to the back of that piece and then set the entire piece in place on the front of the card. Do this carefully because Dimensionals don't like to come up as easy as the tape does.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I used the die from the "Labeled With Love" bundle. I added Dimensionals to the back. I set it on the front of the card but I didn't press down because I wanted to add some leaves.

The leaves are from the "Autumn Leaves" bundle. I cut them from a piece of Basic White card stock. I colored them with my Blends pens I used Pecan Pie, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. I added some glue to the backs and I tucked them in under the upper left corner of the word piece.  And that was it, the card was done.

There's just something about this card that catches my eye. I think the scene should have been leaning more towards the fall because of the leaves but yet it still looks okay the way it is.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
