Autumn Leaves, Simply Said, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fall card to share with you using the "Book Fold" technique. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a half-sheet of Basic White card stock. Once cut in half (on the short side) it measures 4-1/4" x 11".  I scored the piece at 4-1/4", 5-1/2" and 6-3/4".

I cut a 4" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Iconic Celebrations" 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to one end of the 4-1/4" x 11" piece of card stock. I kept in mind that the end I would be taping this would be the front of the card (it was on the right side of the Basic White piece. Once the DSP was in place I used an almost 3" circle die. Any large die in that size area will work. I cut the DSP and card stock at the same time.

Now I was ready to glue the "book" shut. I added glue to the area between the 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" score lines. I closed the piece and let the glue set up. While the glue was drying I cut a 1" x 4" strip of DSP for the left side of the card. The piece on here is the backside of the acorn piece. I taped my piece in place.

Using the leaf dies from the "Autumn Leaves" bundle and I cut a bunch of colorful leaves. I used Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Pecan Pie card stock for them.

I cut a piece of Basic White card stock that was a little shy of 4-1/4" x 4-1/4".  I taped the leaves onto this piece, trying to fill it up as much as I could. Then I added glue around the perimeter of the piece and taped it to the back of the front cover.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set using Mossy Meadow ink. I cut them out using a 2-7/8" circle die. I glued it to the front of the card, the left edge of the circle touched the left edge of the large circle. Yu can't see it because the large leaf is hiding it.

That large leaf is from the same bundle. I stamped it using Crushed Curry ink on Crushed Curry card stock and I cut it out using the matching die. I glued the leaf in place over part of the Basic White circle. I glued and tucked in more leaves around the left side of the large circle and one on the word circle.

This was a fun card to make. I love all the fall leaves. I'm ready for a long fall!

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
