Flowering Beauty, Layering Leaves, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a pretty card to share with you that I found on the internet. You can see the original card here. There were no instructions so I had to figure it out myself and hope I got it right or at least close! Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock, it opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

On the outside I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Bubble Bath card stock. On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP), I taped that piece in place.

Next I cut a 4" x 2-3/4"  piece of Basic White for the layer behind the focal piece. On top of that is a 2-5/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Basic Black piece. I taped those two pieces together. Then I cut a 3-3/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock. I marked it at 1/2" from the left bottom edge and 3/8" down on the right side. I put the piece in my paper cutter, I lined up the marks and cut the angle. I taped that to the Basic Black piece in the focal layer. I taped this layered piece on top of the card base. I centered it by eying it.

The flower stem piece was cut using a die from the "Flowers of Beauty" bundle on a piece of Basic White card stock. I added some dots of glue on the wider pieces of the flower stems and set it in place on the front of the card.

In the "Flowers of Beauty" bundle is a strip of flowers. I cut then using a piece of Bubble Bath card stock. I glued them in place on the flower stem piece.

The "hello" is from the "Layering Leaves" set and were stamped using Versa Mark on a scrap piece of Basic Black card stock. I used white embossing powder and I heat set it. Then I fussy cut around the letters. I glued it in place and the card was done.

This was an easy card to make. I love all the layers and I love the looks of it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Snowman Hugs, Greetings of the Season, Snowy Wonder, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog.  Today I have a fun snowman card to share with you. I debated on buying this set because I didn't care much for the other snowman that is more of a southern one. I live in the cold north so a snowman is made of snow and not sand. But my love of snowmen won and I bought the set. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Iconic Celebrations" 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to the front of the card base.

Next I stamped the snowman from the "Snowman Hugs" set. I colored him using using my Blends pens. I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Pie, Granny Apple Green and Basic Black. Then I fussy cut him out.

Using a scrap piece of Basic White I cut the background shape from the "Greetings of the Season" bundle. Then I textured it using the "Falling Snow" embossing folder. Using Dimensionals I set the snowman in place on top of it.

The words are from the "Sophisticated Sled" and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Misty Moonlight ink. I cut it out using a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. I used glue on the left side and a Dimensional on the right side. Then I set the whole piece in place on the front of the card.

I cut three snowflakes using the die from the "Snowy Wonder" using scraps of Basic White card stock. I used a little glue on some of the tips and I set them in place on the front of the card. I also added three crystal rhinestones to the centers of each of the snowflakes because I didn't like the opening in them. And that was it.

No wait, it wasn't it. I didn't like the face of the snowman so I took a pencil and lightly drew an almost full circle to show where the carrot had been. It just looked too empty and smooth there and now I REALLY love this snowman.

This was a fun and easy card to make. Even the fussy cutting wasn't bad at all. The bunny had a few curves but it wasn't bad.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,

One of a Kind, Sophisticated Sled, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I have a winter/Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Falling Snow" embossing folder. Then I cut it down to 4" x 5-1/4". I set it in place on the front of the card base using Dimensionals.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Sentimental Christmas" 12" x 12" package. I cut the pieces 1-1/8" x 1-1/8". I cut 4 pieces. Grab your favorite corner rounder and round two corners. One on the opposite side of the other.

The layer behind the DSP is a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" piece of Boho Blue card stock. I rounded the opposite corners of those 4 pieces too. Then I taped the DSP to the Boho Blue card stock. Dimensionals were added to the backs and the pieces were set in place on the front of the card. I had the rounded corners on the centers of the  "+" the open area formed.

I cut a snowflake from the "One of a Kind" bundle, a Dimensional was added to the center and it was place on the center of the 4 pieces of layered DSP.

I didn't like that I could see the Dimensional behind the opening in the center of the snowflake so I found a large crystal rhinestone and I set it over that space.

The words are from the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle and were stamped using Boho Blue ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the smallest rectangle in the "Perennial Postage" die set. I set the word piece in place using Dimensionals. And the card was done.

I do like how this card turned out. I think the 4 pieces kind of look like the form of a snowflake, not a pretty shape for a snowflake but who knows, it could be! But all in all I do like the card and I am considering making some for our family card this year.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,

Simply Said, Wildly Flowering, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super simple and quick birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I should have cut the piece after texturing because it's a bit small on the top and bottom. I usually do cut after but I wasn't thinking. Especially with this folder, it's notorious for shrining the paper.  Live and learn (though I'm having trouble remembering the learning part!  LOL).  Anyway, I glued the textured piece to the front of the card.

I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Wildly Flowering" 12" x 12" package that measured 1" x 4-3/4" and I glued it to the left side about 3/8" from the edge of the fold and about 3/8" from the top edge of the card base.

The flower piece is from the same package of DSP and was cut at 3" x 3-1/2" and the Misty Moonlight card stock was cut at 3-1/4" x 3-3/4". I taped the two layers together and then glued to the front of the card. It's about 5/8" from the top edge and 5/8" from the fold.

Next I stamped the words from the "Simply Said" set using Misty Moonlight ink. I used the third largest stitched circle from the "Stylish Shapes" set and I used the second largest stitched circle for the Misty Moonlight layer. I taped the layers together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place.

A "Brass Butterfly" was set on the circle along with three small pearls at the bottom of the wording. And the card was done.

It was super quick and easy, huh? And you can grab some of your pretty DSP (retired or not) and make some quick cards and use it up! I have great plans for using this layout and some retired DSP. I have LOTS to use up!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Happiest Day, Friendship Cards, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Since the "Happiest Day" set was still sitting out I thought I would make another card using it. I found this one on the internet. You can see the original card here. You have to scroll down a bit to see it, there was no direct link to the card. And there were no instructions so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock and on top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock. I taped the two pieces together and then I taped them to the front of the card.

The two strips are cut from a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Unbounded Beauty" 12" x 12" package. I cut them at 4-1/4" x 1" and the Basic Black layers are cut at 4-3/8" x 1-1/8". I taped the layers together. Then those were taped to the front of the card about 3/4" from the bottom edge and 3/4" from the top edge and the sides are about 9/16" from the edges.

Next I cut the focal piece from a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. It measures 1-3/4" x 3-1/2" and the layer behind it measures 1-7/8" x 3-5/8". I stamped the words from the "Happiest Day" set using black Memento ink. I also stamped the sun from the same set. I used Crushed Curry ink. The layers were taped together, Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card about 1" from the left edge and about 3/8" from the bottom edge.

I stamped the dragonfly next using black Memento ink. Pumpkin Pie ink was used to stamp the wings. I fussy cut the piece out. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

I had some retired colored rhinestones and set them in place on the front of the card. And the card was done.

This was a very fun and quick card to make. I am having a lot of fun with this "Happiest Day" set.

Thank you SO very much for stopping by and seeing today's friendship card,

Happiest Day, Friendship Card, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I was looking at the stamp sets I have and I ran across one that I hadn't used yet. Yup, I hadn't used it yet.  I may have purchased too many sets because they caught my eye and I had to have them. I don't know why this one caught my eye but it did.  I searched the net to find a fun card to see what I can make with the set and this one peaked my interest. I'm not sure what category this card would fall under. Is it a thank you card or a friendship card? What do you think? You can see they original card here. There were no instructions so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

For the layers I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black, on top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Unbounded Beauty" 12" x 12" package was cut at 3-3/4" x 5". I set the DSP piece aside and taped the two other layers together and then I set them aside.

The strip for the words was cut at 4-1/4" x 1-3/4" and the Basic Black Layer behind it was cut at 4-3/8" x 1-7/8".

I stamped the words and dragonfly outline at the same time. I lined them up on the piece and using my Stamparatus I stamped them together. Actually I used my small MISTI, my Stamparatus has some other stamps in it that I'm using to make multiples of cards for holiday cards as a gift for a friend. Anyway, after stamping those I stamped the wings. I used Flirty Flamingo for the top part of the wings. I think I should have stamped off once so it wasn't so dark and would go better with the DSP.  The bottom part of the wings were stamped using Daffodil Delight.

Oops I forgot about the arrow pieces. I stamped those in the opposite corners using Flirty Flamingo ink. Then I taped the Basic White piece to the Basic Black layer. I taped that to the front of the card. Normally I don't do that, I will set it on the area it's going to go so I can see where to stamp on the piece it will be taped to but I figured I really couldn't ruin the sun so I went ahead and taped it down.

Daffodil Delight was also used to stamp the sun and the rays. There are two separate stamps. I stamped them using my MISTI and I stamped them three times to get them dark. I should have used Crushed Curry and it would have showed up better. But it is what it is and noting it here I will know better in the future what to do to make the sun darker.

I taped the DSP piece to the Basic White piece and then that was taped to the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I am anxious to play with this set again.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's card,

Thoughtful Journey, Labeled With Love, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick thank you card to share with you. A friend will be doing me a favor and I wanted to make a thank you card for her. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Misty Moonlight card stock for the layer.

Three strips were cut from another piece of Misty Moonlight. I textured it with the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder and I cut the strips at 1-1/8" x 5-1/8".  I glued them to the Misty Moonlight layer piece. I glued the outside pieces first and then centered the middle piece. Then I taped that to the front of the card.

The pretty image is from the "Thoughtful Journey" 6" x 6" stack and was cut at 3" x 3-1/2".  The Basic White layer measures 3-1/8" x 3-5/8". I taped the two pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Labeled With Love" bundle using Night of Navy ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

A bow was tied and set in place in the upper corner using a glue dot.  And that was it, the card was done.

This was a super quick, easy and fun card to make.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's thank you card,

Simply Said, Textured Floral, The Season of Green & Gold, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun friendship card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Old Olive card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock. One I taped to the inside and the other I will be taping to the front of the card.

Next I cut 5 strips of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from "The Season of Green & Gold" 12" x 12" package. They measured 4-3/4" x 1/2" and I cut 5 Old Olive layers that measured 4-7/8" x 5/8". I taped the layers together and I did keep the design like it was before cutting. The strips were taped to the Basic White piece. I taped the outside pieces first and then the center one. The remaining two just fit in place.

Using Old Olive card stock cut the geometric shape from the "Nested Essentials" set using the second largest die. And I cut a Basic White one using the third largest die. I taped the two pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card, centering it by eyeing it.

I cut the gold leaves using the die from the "Textured Floral" bundle. And the other leaf bunches are from a piece of DSP in the same "The Season of Green & Gold" package. I fussy cut both of them. There are dies for this but I didn't purchase them, I had just purchased the DSP. Those pieces were glued to the top of the geometric pieces.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them using the die from the "Nested Essentials" set. Dimensionals were added to the right side and tape to the left and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I used to shy away from strips on cards but the more I've done them the better I am getting at placing them.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Autumn Leaves, Simply Said, Meandering Meadows, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun framed card to share with you. I have often made ones like this using two circle dies but today I used rectangle ones. It's so easy to do and I think I like it much better than the circles because there's more to see in the larger area. Though I do the circles using tiny stamps/images because it somehow makes that little image look larger.  Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Garden Green card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Garden Green and Basic White card stock. I taped the Basic White piece inside the card and the Garden Green piece I cut the window using the second largest die in the "Nested Essentials" set. Then I textured it using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I was looking for a different folder but I couldn't find it so I just went with this one. Which is okay but not what I had in mind. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

Next I took a 3-3/4" x 3" piece of Garden Green card stock and I cut the second largest rectangle from the same set.

The pretty image is from the "Meandering Meadows" Designer Series Paper (DSP) 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to the backside of the 3-3/4" x 3" Garden Green piece.

I removed the backing from the Dimensionals and I hovered over the DSP and when I saw what I liked in the opening I set it down on top to set it in place. I added tape to the back of that piece and then set the entire piece in place on the front of the card. Do this carefully because Dimensionals don't like to come up as easy as the tape does.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I used the die from the "Labeled With Love" bundle. I added Dimensionals to the back. I set it on the front of the card but I didn't press down because I wanted to add some leaves.

The leaves are from the "Autumn Leaves" bundle. I cut them from a piece of Basic White card stock. I colored them with my Blends pens I used Pecan Pie, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. I added some glue to the backs and I tucked them in under the upper left corner of the word piece.  And that was it, the card was done.

There's just something about this card that catches my eye. I think the scene should have been leaning more towards the fall because of the leaves but yet it still looks okay the way it is.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Spotlight on Nature, Wildly Flowering, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super quick and easy card for you to make. I love this layout and it can be used for a number of other occasions. Please read on to see how today's card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Misty Moonlight card stock for the layer. I textured it using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I usually cut the piece 4-1/4" x 5-1/2", texture and then cut but I wasn't sure where I was going with this card when I started making it. In texturing it after cutting the piece can get a bit smaller. Mine did a bit so I have more white showing on the top and bottom than I do on the sides. But I moved the piece enough that it doesn't show much. Though now that I told you, you will notice it! LOL I glued this piece to the front of the card.

Next I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Wildly Flowering" 12" x 12" package. It measures 4-1/2" x 2-1/4" and the Basic White layer behind it measures 4-1/2" x 2-1/2".  I taped the two pieces together and then taped them to the front of the card with equal spacing on the side, top and bottom. Mine measures about 1/2" from those edges.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them using the die from the "Labeled With Love" bundle. I set it in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

I thought the card could use something else so I stamped the butterfly from the "Spotlight on Nature" set. I used black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I colored it in using my Blender Pen and Misty Moonlight card stock. I thought it could use a bit more color so I took my light Bubble Bath Blends pen and colored over some of the wings.  I fussy cut the butterfly, added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on the front of the card covering the word piece just a little bit.

A few small pearls were added to the back of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun and super quick card to make, even with the fussy cutting of the butterfly!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Spotlight on Nature, Adventurous Sky, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I was looking at some stamped pieces on my worktable and thought I'd see if I can put a card together using them. And I did it. I love it when I can whip up a card in no time but better yet, use up things sitting on my worktable. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Shaded Spruce. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock. One was taped to the inside and the other was textured using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card.

Then I took a 2" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Perennial Lavender" 12" x 12" package. I glued that to the bottom of the card, covering the lower part of the textured piece.

The circle with the words on was from a card I had previously made. I think I had four of them, three for sure and there was this one still sitting on my worktable. The words are from the "Adventurous Sky" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock. I thought I would put it together to make a card. I had a piece of DSP from the "Season of Green & Gold" 12" x 12"package. It had been cut using a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. I had cut it out for something else and didn't use it so I put it inside the case with the stamps. Many of my stamp sets have pieces in them that are stamped or actually colored and ready to use. I taped the two circles together.

I opened the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle and inside the set was the flowers stamped and colored. What luck, huh?  So I cut the large one and was only going to use that in the center of the piece of DSP but I decided to cut the smaller one and add it too. I used Dimensionals to set them in place in the DSP circle. I remember coloring them using the light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen and the light Granny Apple Green Blends pen.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the circles and were set in place on the front of the card. And that was it, the card was done. I think it took me longer to gather the pieces and cut the card base and DSP than to put it together. It was fun to use up things that were sitting around waiting to become an artful card!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Simply Said, Simply Zinnia, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I found such a beautiful card that I had to make one. You can see the original card here. There were no instructions on how to make the card so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I put this card together.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

A 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Granny Apple Green was cut for the layer. I also die cut the leaves and other greenery from the center of that piece before I used it for the layer. Getting the most out of a piece of card stock, huh? When I cut layers that are thin I tend to cheat the ruler on the cutter. What I mean here is for the Granny Apple Green piece, not much of it will be showing so when I cut it at the 3-7/8" I move my card stock over the 3-7/8" line so I no longer see it. And the same with the 5-1/8" mark. It gives it a hair more but that hair more makes a difference.  Especially when you do the opposite on the top layer. So for the Basic Black piece I make sure I pass that mark on the cutter on the other side. So the Granny Apple Green piece is a hair larger and the Basic Black is a hair smaller. Then I have more of the bottom color showing.

Next I cut a piece of Basic Black that measures 3-3/4" x 5" and I textured it using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. As I stated above, I cheated the cut by cutting on the shorter side of the line. I hope I made that clear in the above paragraph.

Now came the fun. All the pieces. I cut the flowers using Crushed Curry card stock for the petals. Melon Mambo for the inside and Daffodil Delight for the star looking ring on top of the Melon Mambo piece. I cut two sets of each.

Melon Mambo was used for the flower center and the upper left flower pieces.

Daffodil Delight was used for the rings on each of the larger flowers and for the star looking flowers on the Granny Apple Green branch looking thing.

The leaves, the stem with leaves and the branch looking thing were all cut using Granny Apple Green card stock.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were cut using the die from the "Labeled With Love" bundle.  Black Memento ink was used to stamp the words.

Now let's assemble the front. I used tape, yes tape for the word piece. I chose tape because I needed to slip pieces under it. I normally use glue on top of textured layers.

The first thing I added was the top large flower. I used glue on the center part of the flower only. Then I set it in place on the front of the card. I made sure a petal went over the word piece. Then I added glue to a large leave and slipped that under the flower and word piece on the right. The branchy looking piece with the star flowers was added next. I just added a dot of glue on each star and set it in place under the larger flower.

The second larger flower was added next. Again I put the glue on the center of the flower. The bottom leaf was glued on next and then the upper larger leave was added. I added a little bit of glue to the Melon Mambo flower on the bottom part of the flower (on the back) and slipped that under the larger flower.  And that was it. It went together so quickly. I checked the word piece and it seems to be holding but I did cover every inch of it with tape.

I think it's such a pretty card. Can you see why I just had to make one? I can see myself making more in the near future. I have a few people with birthdays coming up and I think they would love a card like this.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Autumn Leaves, Simply Said, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fall card to share with you using the "Book Fold" technique. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a half-sheet of Basic White card stock. Once cut in half (on the short side) it measures 4-1/4" x 11".  I scored the piece at 4-1/4", 5-1/2" and 6-3/4".

I cut a 4" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Iconic Celebrations" 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to one end of the 4-1/4" x 11" piece of card stock. I kept in mind that the end I would be taping this would be the front of the card (it was on the right side of the Basic White piece. Once the DSP was in place I used an almost 3" circle die. Any large die in that size area will work. I cut the DSP and card stock at the same time.

Now I was ready to glue the "book" shut. I added glue to the area between the 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" score lines. I closed the piece and let the glue set up. While the glue was drying I cut a 1" x 4" strip of DSP for the left side of the card. The piece on here is the backside of the acorn piece. I taped my piece in place.

Using the leaf dies from the "Autumn Leaves" bundle and I cut a bunch of colorful leaves. I used Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Pecan Pie card stock for them.

I cut a piece of Basic White card stock that was a little shy of 4-1/4" x 4-1/4".  I taped the leaves onto this piece, trying to fill it up as much as I could. Then I added glue around the perimeter of the piece and taped it to the back of the front cover.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set using Mossy Meadow ink. I cut them out using a 2-7/8" circle die. I glued it to the front of the card, the left edge of the circle touched the left edge of the large circle. Yu can't see it because the large leaf is hiding it.

That large leaf is from the same bundle. I stamped it using Crushed Curry ink on Crushed Curry card stock and I cut it out using the matching die. I glued the leaf in place over part of the Basic White circle. I glued and tucked in more leaves around the left side of the large circle and one on the word circle.

This was a fun card to make. I love all the fall leaves. I'm ready for a long fall!

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Sophisticated Sled, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I have been having such a great time playing with the "Sophisticated Sled" bundle. I think these little skates are just too adorable. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Falling Snow" embossing folder. Then I trimmed it to 4' x 5-1/4". I prefer to texture first and then cut the piece to size because sometimes the texturing caused the piece to shrink a bit. I glued this piece to the front of the card.

A 2" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Iconic Celebrations" 6" x 6" stack. I glued it to the front of the card. I use glue because it sticks better on textured pieces than tape does. It's about 1/2" from the fold and 1/2" from the top edge.

The sled was cut and assembled next. I used silver foil card stock for the runner piece and the skate blades. Pecan Pie card stock was used for the wood part of the sled. The greenery was cut using Old Olive and Mossy Meadow card stock. The skates and laces were cut using Basic White card stock.

Glue was used to affix the wood pieces to the runner. I glued the laces to the skates and I also glued the blades on.

On the upper part of the sled I used a dot of glue to add the greenery. I added the Mossy Meadow one first and then the Old Olive piece. I offset them a bit so it would look fuller and it also allows you to see the two colors.

I glued the skates together and added Dimensionals to the back.

I took a 3" piece of Baker's Twine, I folded it in half and using a glue dot I set it in place on the center of the greens. I let the ends hang down. I moved them so they were a bit centered on the skates. Once I liked where the twine ends were I set the skates in place on top of them. The Dimensionals will help stick them to the sled and the skates.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the sled and the sled was set in place on top of the DSP. I tied a double bow using Baker's Twine and set it in place on top of the other piece of twine.

The words are from the same "Sophisticated Sled" bundle and were stamped using Misty Moonlight ink. I cut them using a die from the "Everyday Details" set. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I had some red crystal rhinestones and I set them in place on the greenery. I added some clear ones to the circle and to the centers of the larger snowflakes on the textured background. And that was it.

This was a very fun and easy card to make. It does have a lot of pieces but it went together quickly. I am pleased with the way it turned out.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,

Simply Said, Thoughtful Journey, Thoughtful Designs, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and pretty birthday card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. The link does not take you to any information on how it was made so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Thoughtful Journey" 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to the front of the card.

The next layer is a piece of DSP from the "Thoughtful Designs" 12" x 12" package and was cut at 4" x 3-1/2". And the Basic White layer was cut at 4-1/8" x 3-5/8".  I taped the layers together and then taped that to the front of the card making it equal on all four sides. You can measure it, I just eye it.

Next I cut a piece of DSP from the "Thoughtful Journey" 6" x 6" stack. I cut 2" from the left side of that image sheet and I cut the top off so it measured 2" x 4-1/2".  The Basic White layer behind it was cut at 4-1/8" x 4-5/8" and the two layers were taped together. It was then taped to the front of the card. It is about 3/4" from the fold and about 7/16" from the top edge. I just eye it and tape it in place. The card has a lot of things going on with color and elements that no one will notice if it's not completely centered. They will notice if it's crooked! (guaranteed!).

I took some Baker's Twine and folded it in half and tied a double bow. Each bow is about 1-1/2" long. I opened them up a bit and then set it in place using a glue dot.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I used the matching die to cut them out. There is a punch too but I opted for the die because you got three of them for the same price as the punch. I think it was the same price. I just thought I'd like the dies better and I do. Using the same die I cut one using a scrap piece of Petunia Pop card stock. I cut the piece in half the long way. I added tape to the back of the word piece and then taped the halves to the top and bottom of it. Dimensionals were added the back and the piece was set in place over the bow.

For the embellishments I had to really wing that. I didn't have the ones used on the original card. So what I did was I took three pearls and my dark Fresh Freesia Blends Pen and colored them in. I didn't have the Petunia Pop Blends because I just can't justify buying them because they will retire and they are a little expensive.  I gave the pearls a minute to dry and then I set them in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done.

I just thought this card was SO pretty and I just had to make it. It's also versatile so you can use it for other occasions.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
