Sophisticated Sled, Spotlight on Nature, Iconic Celebrations, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog.  It's now past July so I feel like I can pop a few more Christmas cards in the mix. Today I used the "Sophisticated Sled" to make my card. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a quarter sheet of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Falling Snow" embossing folder. I cut it to 4" x 5-1/4" and I glued it to the front of the card.

Next I cut some circles using the dies from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Iconic Celebrations" 6" x 6" stack. The circles were glued in place on top of the embossed piece.

The words are from the same "Sophisticated Sled" and were cut using the die from the "Unbounded Love" bundle. The smallest matching circle in the "Spotlight on Nature" was too small, so I hunted for one that would work.  The words were stamped using black Memento ink and I took my Misty Moonlight marker and ran the belly of it along the edge of the circle to give it a bit of color. The word piece was set in place using Dimensionals.

The sled came next. The frame is cut using Basic Black card stock. The wooden part is cut from a piece of Pecan Pie card stock. The skates and laces are Basic White. The blades are cut from some silver metallic paper. And the greenery is cut from Mossy Meadow and Old Olive card stock.

The "wooden" part of the sled was glued on first.  Then the greenery was added. Mossy Meadow was set down first and then the Old Olive piece.

I glued the laces to the skates and I glued the blades on. Dimensionals were added to the back. I lined the shoes up to where I thought they looked good "hanging" and added Dimensionals to the back. I pressed down only on the ones that touched the other skate. I did this because I needed to lift them up to add the twine. That piece of twine measures 3". I glued the middle of that twine to the middle of the greenery.

A double bow was tied and set in place with glue dots.

I removed the backing on the Dimensionals and set the skates in place.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the sled and it was set in place on the front of the card about 1/2" from the right edge.

I colored some pearls using my dark Cherry Cobbler Blends pen. I set them in place on the greenery.

A few small crystal rhinestones and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I like how it turned out. I can't wait to see what the new Christmas DSP will look like. I need some fun papers to play with this holiday season.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
