Enduring Beauty, Cheerful Daisies, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another stenciled card to share with you. I found the card on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try. When I made the card yesterday I made a couple. Why not. You have the stencils out and "dirty" so you might was well make more than one. You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how I put the card together.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. Once cut in half it measures 4-1/4" x 11". It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Layered Florals" embossing folder. Then the piece was cut into strips that measured 1-1/2" x 3-7/8". I cut mine a bit shorter than on the original card. And had I realized how big the spaces were between the strips I would have cut them a bit wider. And I could have cut the strips at 3-3/4" so the sides were as wide as the top and bottom.  I don't understand why mine was so off when I had followed the instructions. But it is what it is. I glued these pieces in place.

Next I stamped the flower from the "Enduring Beauty" bundle using black Memento ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I colored it in using the stencils in the bundle. I used the matching stencils to color it. I used stencils #1-4. I colored a couple of flowers using the Daffodil Delight and the reaming flowers using Calypso Coral. I used Calypso Coral for the highlights on the three flowers. I also used it on the Daffodil Delight flowers but very lightly. I tried using Daffodil Delight to make it a bit darker but it didn't work. The leaves were colored using Granny Apple Green for both the leaves  and the details on the leaves (stencils 3 and 4). Once the coloring was done I cut them out using the matching die.  Then I cut the piece in half.

I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and before I taped it to the inside of the card I used it as a guide for the stenciled flowers. I set the bottom piece on the left bottom area and trimmed any excess that hung over. And then I did the same for the upper piece. Once that was done I taped the Basic White piece to the inside of the card.

The flower pieces were glued to the front of the card.  It's best to use glue because there is so much texture on the Basic White piece that the tape might not get enough coverage to stick.

The words are from the "Cheerful Daisies" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the die from the same "Cheerful Daisies" bundle. I set the words in place on the front of the card. On the original card it was shown how to put the upper leaf over the words. With the words I chose that didn't work but I was able to get the leaf on the bottom to go over the word piece. I just thought it was a fun touch.

And that was it, the card was done. I do like how it turned out but I would redo the measurements next time to there isn't such a gap between them.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
