The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I set it aside for now.
Next I took a 1/4 sheet of Basic White card stock and stamped the floral image from the "Enduring Beauty" bundle using black Memento ink.
Then the fun part happens, the coloring. It's kind of magical the way it happens. It's done by using the matching stencils and Blending Brushes.
I cut the piece out using the matching die and then I used the matching stencils to color it. I used stencils #1-4. I colored a couple of flowers using the Daffodil Delight and the reaming flowers using Calypso Coral. I used Calypso Coral for the highlights on the three flowers. I also used it on the Daffodil Delight flowers but very lightly. I tried using Daffodil Delight to make it a bit darker but it didn't work. The leaves were colored using Granny Apple Green for both the leaves and the details on the leaves. Once the coloring was done I cut them out using the matching die.
I added glue to the back of the floral piece and set it on the lower left side of the "Exposed Brick" piece. Using a scissors I trimmed off the excess that was hanging over on the left and bottom.
I added Dimensionals to the back of the piece and set it in place on top of the card base.
The words are from the "Cheerful Daisies" bundle and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I used a die from that bundle to cut them out. I set them in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals and the card was done. I was going to add some bling but I didn't want to take away from the pretty background texture.
This was a fun card to make and those stencils make it look like you are SO good at coloring/shading.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
I agree - it's so fun to have stencils to color stamped and embossed images! Such a lovely card. I also really like the embossed background=.
