Adventurous Sky, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I had made this card the other day and thought I had posted it. No wonder I had to scramble to make one that evening. I think I really need to take a day and clean off my worktable. This was a fun and simple card to make. Please read on to see how it was done.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. It open on the right and the fold is on the left.

A 4"x 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy was cut for the layer.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) was cut next. It's from the "Take to the Sky" 12" x 12" package. The piece on the left was cut at 5" x 1-5/8". The top right piece was cut at 2" x 3-1/4" and the bottom piece was cut at 2" x 1-5/8".  I taped them to the layer piece.

I cut the plane from the "Adventurous Sky" bundle. I used Copper Clay for the body and Smoky Slate for the wings. I also cut the propellers using Basic Black card stock. The die cuts two and I used them both. The other areas that look dark were colored in using my Basic Black marker, including the tires. I glued the pieces to the plane together. Dimensionals were added to the back of the plane and it was set in place on the front of the card but I didn't press down on it yet.

The words were from the same "Adventurous Sky" bundle and were stamp using Night of Navy ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the cloud die from the bundle. I also cut a few more clouds at the same time. Dimensionals were added to the back and they were set in place on the front of the card. There was two small clouds that I just taped in place (no Dimensionals).  I pressed down on the pieces so they were affixed to the front of the card.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside and the card was done.

This was a fun and quick card to make. I like how it turned out and I especially love the DSP background.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
