Adventurous Sky, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest but there was no link so I had to figure out the measurements for myself. Please read on to see how the card was made. You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy for the large layer and a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White for the top large layer. That piece was textured using the "Dotted Circles" embossing folder. I glued that to the Night of Navy piece and then that was taped to the front of the card.

Next I took a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Take to the Sky" 12" x 12" package. Mine was a scrap piece so it was 1-5/8" wide and I trimmed it to 3-3/4" long. I set it aside.

The square Night of Navy layer was cut at 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" and the Basic White square was cut at 2-1/2" x 2-1/2".  I stamped the plane from the "Adventurous Sky" bundle to it using Night of Navy ink. I took my Blending Pen and colored over the plane. The pen picked up the blue from the ink and that's how the plane got it color. Careful not to go over an area too much, the outlines will lighten up too much plus your card stock could pill.

The words are from the same "Adventurous Sky" bundle and were stamped using Nigh of Navy ink.

I taped the DSP to the Night of Navy square and then taped the Basic White square on top of that.

Dimensionals were added to the back, including on top of the DSP and the piece was set in place on the front of the card, centering it as much as possible.  I had centered the large Basic White piece on the "Dotted Circles" folder so it was pretty easy to get things lined up to be ever so close to center.

And that was it, a super easy and quick masculine birthday card to make!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda

  1. A very great masculine card! I like the embossed background piece, and the added piece of patterned paper between the image and the matting.
