Wildflower Designs, Flowering Zinnias, Spotlight on Nature, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a thinking of you card to share with you. I found the layout on Pinterest, you can see that card here. I changed it a little but for the most part it looks like the one on Pinterest. Please read on to see how the card was made. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flowering Zinnias" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card.

The flowers were stamped on a Basic White piece of card stock using black Memento ink. I colored them in using my Blending Pen. I didn't have all the colors in Blends markers.  I colored the two smaller flowers using Daffodil Delight ink. The large flower was colored in using Peach Pie ink and the leaves were colored in using my Granny Apple Green Blends markers. The butterfly was colored in using Daffodil Delight ink, Peach Pie ink and Azure Afternoon ink. I was headed towards my ink pad holder to get Summer Splash and somehow I ended up grabbing the Azure Afternoon ink and it didn't dawn on me until I was done coloring. I think the "Summer Splash would look a little lighter but this still worked. To make the greenish look on the wings I had just colored over the Daffodil Delight with the Azure Afternoon ink. I fussy cut the butterfly out.

Next I die cut the circles. I cut the Peach Pie one using the largest circle in the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. And the flowers were cut using the second largest die. I taped the circles together and then taped them to the front of the card. 

The butterfly was added to the front of the card using Dimensionals.

And the words are from the "Wildflower Designs" set using black Memento ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I took it to my paper cutter and cut it 5/8" x 3-3/4". I snipped the ends at an angle. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. I like now it turned out. At first I didn't think the Peach Pie card stock would go well with the DSP but once the pieces were all put together it did end up blending well together.
