Spotlight on Nature, Labeled With Love, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I found a card on Pinterest that I just had to make. You can see the original card here. There was no info on how it was made or who made it so if you have any info on that please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due. Please read on to see how I made the card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Flirty Flamingo card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. From what I could gather from the original card, it opened on the bottom and the fold was on the top which meant you need to cut your sheet of card stock on the 8-1/2" side so it measures 4-1/4" x 11".  I just decided to go with the right side opening.

Next I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the inside. I didn't tape it in yet.

Then I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Unbounded Beauty" 12" x 12" package. I used a retired 1-3/4" punch and slipped the corners of the DSP in and punched them to round them. I did that with the Basic White inside piece and the front and back of the card base. Now I could tape the Basic White piece to the inside. I also taped the DSP to the outside.

I cut a 1" x 5-1/2" strip of Flirty Flamingo card stock for the strip on the side. I scored it at 1/4, 1/2" and 3/4". I taped it in place on the left side of the card along the fold.

The flowers were stamped next and they are from the "Spotlight on Nature" set and were stamped using black Memento ink in a piece of Basic White card stock. I colored the flowers in using my light and dark Flirty Flamingo Blends pens. And for the greenery I used my light Granny Apple Green Blends pen.

Using the third largest die in the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle I cut the flowers out. And using the second largest die on that same set of circles I cut a Flirty Flamingo circle. I taped the two circles together. I taped them to the front of the card about 3/4" from the top and about 3/8" from the fold. I tried to eye it so it was centered. It's not completely centered but it's close enough.

The butterfly from the same "Spotlight on Nature" set was stamped on a scrap piece of card stock and was fussy cut. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

I stamped the words from the "Labeled With Love" set using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut it out using the 4th largest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" die set. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

A pink "Candy Dot" (retired) was added to the word piece and the card was done.

What caught my eye about this card was the scored strip on the left. It just added SO much to the card that I had to give it a try and since I had everything (except for the embellishment) I thought I'd give it a try. I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
