Layers of Beauty, Best Family Ever, Adventurous Sky, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I'm glad you found your way here. I have a fun and easy card to share with you. This card can be used for a number of occasions. Today I chose birthday. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White for the top layer.

The strips are 1" wide each. One is 4" long and the other is 5-1/4" long. I scored them on my scoring board. I started in the middle at 1/2". I scored two more on each side of the center score. I did this for both pieces. I turned them over because the bumpy side is the one you want on top of your card. I used glue to set mine in place because I didn't want to squish down the bumps. The 4" one was glued down first, it's about 1-1/2" up from the top layer piece. And the 5-1/4" piece was glued on about 5/8" from the left edge of that top layer piece.

I cut 2 squares from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I used the two smallest on a scrap of Basic White card stock. I taped the small one on top of the larger one. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card about 1-1/4" from the 4" x 5-1/4" layer and 3/8" from the left edge. I didn't press down on the piece yet because the words need to go between the two squares.

The little flower was found on my worktable. It had been cut off a larger stenciled "Layers of Beauty" flower. I had saved it thinking someday I would use it and someday came! And I was able to find it! I added that because I can easily lose things on my worktable!  The flower was added with small Dimensionals and set in place on the little square.

I stamped the words from the "Best Family Ever" set using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the die from the "Adventurous Sky" bundle. I used a couple of small Dimensionals on the right side and a little bit of glue on the left. I slipped the piece between the two squares and pressed down on all the pieces to set them in place. And that was it, the card was done.

I didn't add any bling, I wanted to keep it clean looking.

This would be a great wedding, anniversary, thinking of you, thank you, friendship, Christmas or get well card. There's lots you can do with this. I like this layout. It's so simple, it's quick and super easy to do.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Such a beautiful card! I love all the white with just a touch of color in that cute little flower you saved. (I would have probably either forgotten about it or lost it!) The scoring on the strips adds so much.
