Flowers of Beauty, Unbounded Beauty, Unbounded Love, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that came in my email. I wasn't surfing for it like I normally would be doing, I followed the link to the blog. You can see the original card here. I made a few changes and used what I had on hand. On page 22 of the Stampin' Up! 2024-2025 catalog there's quite a few card sketches to follow. This card used the 6th one. I may have to look harder at those sketches and see what I can come up with. Sometimes it's just the layout that is holding me back.  Anyway, please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Peach Pie card stock for the layer. On top of that layer is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock that I textured using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued the embossed piece to the Peach Pie piece and then I taped that to the front of the card.

Next came the panels in the back. For the layers I cut 3 pieces that measured 1-7/8" x 2-5/8" and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Unbounded Beauty" 12" x 12" package was cut at 1-3/4" x 2-1/2". The layers were taped together and glued to the front of the card on top of the textured piece. The pieces are about 1/2" from the top and fold, bottom and fold with the middle piece being about 1/2" from the right side and centered between the two pieces.  But placing them goes as follows, the top piece was set in place first, the middle piece and then the bottom.

The die cut pieces are from the "Flowers of Beauty" bundle. I cut one using Basic White card stock and the glitter paper I used is from a retired package of Champaign colored glitter paper. I die cut one and I had trouble removing the opening pieces so I cut another one and it was worse. What I ended up doing was removing the plastic like layer from the back and the piece cut so nice and clean. I plan on doing that with future glitter papers because I'm done struggling with them. That was why I wasn't using them. Now I know and away I go! LOL

Then I stamped the words from the "Unbounded Love" bundle using black Memento ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the die from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. It measures about 2-1/4".  So for those of you that don't have that set you can use a 2-1/4" circle die and it will still look nice. Dimensionals were added to the back of the circle and it was set aside.

I laid the die cut branch pieces on top of the card and then I laid the circle on top to see where I needed to adjust the branch pieces. I set the circle aside and added a little bit of tape under the branch stems so they would stay in place.

The backing was removed from the Dimensionals on the circle and it was set in place on the front of the card.

The cute little flowers are from the "Flowers of Beauty" bundle. There are two long strips of little flowers. There's two sizes, a large and a small. There's 8 of each. I cut one strip of each so now I have a bunch of little flowers for future cards. I glued a large and a small flower together and I glued that to the circle. I colored three crystal rhinestones using my light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen. I set them in place on the card. One on the upper right, one on the left about 1-1/2" down (hidden in the glittery branches) and one on the little flower.

The closest colored ribbon I had was some retired More Mustard grosgrain. I tied a bow and glued it in place and the card was done.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make (once I figured out the glitter paper issue). I do like how it turned out and I think I'll use this layout again.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
