Flowering Zinnias, Sketched Butterflies, Gift Card Holder Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a gift card holder to share with you. It's a fun "Z" fold too! I found it here on Pinterest. There's a link to a video there too but I didn't watch it, the measurements for the pieces were provided on Pinterest so I just went with that. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Berry Burst card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flowering Zinnia's" 12" x 12" package. I taped that to the card base.

The "Z" fold piece was cut at 4-1/4" x 9" and it was scored at 3" and 6".  On the front of the "Z" fold piece I taped a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of DSP.

A 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut and taped to the inside for writing on.

Next I made the pocket. It's a 3-1/4" x 3" piece of DSP that was scored on the sides. Once scored it measured 2-3/4" x 3".  I used my bone folder on the score lines and then I glued them plus the bottom edge to the inside of the "Z" fold piece. Allow the glue to dry some before you slip in a gift card.

The "Z" fold piece was then taped to the front of the card base.

I decorated the front of the piece by fussy cutting a zinnia from the "Flowering Zinnias" DSP and a couple of leaves. I glued the leaves on the back of the flower. Dimensionals were added to the back of the flower. I set it aside until the words were done.

The words are from the "Sketched Butterflies" bundle and were stamped using Berry Burst ink. I cut them using two dies from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I taped the two rectangles together. I used glue to set the word piece in place. To do this without making a mess, I set the piece where I wanted it and then I turned the piece over. I just made a mark with my fingernail in the middle of the back of the piece. I added glue on the back of the piece and got close to that mark but not over it. I set the piece in place and I had no mess.

The flower was added and the card was done. And I would think by now the pocket should be set up enough to put a gift card or money in it.

This was a fun and easy gift card holder to make. I can see myself making these at Christmas time!

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's gift card holder,
Wanda
