Cheerful Daisies, Unbounded Love, Adventurous Sky, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a pretty card to share with you. I saw it on the internet and the layout caught my eye. You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I took a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Unbounded Beauty" 12" x 12" package and cut it at 4-1/4" x 3".  I taped it to the center of the card. I actually took a piece of graph paper and used that to help line up my piece. I do have the Stampin' Up! grid paper but it's buried under a bunch of other things on my worktable and not easily accessible (at the moment).

Next I cut a piece of Basic White card stock that measures 5-1/2" x 3" and I textured it using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card, again using my graph paper to help get it centered.

The flowers were cut out next. There's lots of pieces  here. I used Basic White card stock and the dies from the "Cheerful Daisies" bundle. I cut the flowers and the solid pieces for the backs of the flowers. I cut the leaves and the branch looking pieces. I used my Blending brush and scrubbed on some Petunia Pop ink. The center of the flowers were colored in using a the light Pecan Pie Blends pen.  I glued the flowers to their matching solid back pieces.

The leaves were colored in using both light and dark Granny Apple Green Blends pens.

The words are from the "Adventurous Sky" bundle and were stamped using Pecan Pie ink. The were cut using the dies from the "Unbounded Love" bundle.

Now we are ready to assemble.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the large flower and it was set in place on the front of the card a little bit low of center. The other two flowers were added, the one on the left first and then the upper one. The branch images were set in place using a little bit of mono glue and then the leaves were added on top with a little bit of glue too.

Dimensionals were added behind the word piece and it was set in place on the lower right and the card was done.

I changed the colors from the original card, mostly because of the DSP I had to work with. I do like how it turned out. It's got a fresh look.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

  2. Beautiful card! I love the colors you used! I love the Cheerful Daisies set and need to use mine again. I don't have Petunia Pop but have been substituting Fresh Freeshia for it. Sometimes it works but just lighter.
