Cheerful Daisies, Simply Said, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. As I was gathering the dies in the "Cheerful Daisies" bundle that was sitting on my worktable I grabbed the little zip bag I had inside the stamp set. I collect the pieces I don't use and save them. SO today I decided to take those pieces and see if I could put a card together with them. This is what I came up with. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Lemon Lolly. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock for the layer. And on top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock that was textured using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued that to the Soft Sea Foam piece and then that was taped to the front of the card.

In my little baggie I had the flower pieces. The one had been cut from the set of three that get die cut at once because they are a connected piece. I colored the center of it using my Lemon Lolly light Blends pen.

A little glue was added to the center ring part of the top flower and it was set on top of the one I just colored the center. I added a Dimensional to the back center.

I didn't have any colored branch looking pieces in my baggie, I did have white and I could have colored them with my Blends pen but I just cut new ones. I set them on the front of the card where I think they should go and I lightly set the flower on top to see how it looked. Once I was happy with the placing I added a little tape to the textured piece and pressed the stem of the branch piece onto it. I removed the protective piece on the Dimensional and I set that in place over the branches.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut it using a die from the "Unbounded Love" bundle. I also cut a Lemon Lolly piece using the same die that was used for the word piece. And the scalloped layer I cut a Soft Sea Foam piece. I glued the Lemon Lolly piece on first and then glued the word piece in place. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

And that was it. I thought it was a fun card to make and I got to use some pieces in my stash. Not many but some is better than none. I do like how the card turned out and would make more in the future.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

I love how the center piece was just added with a little glue in the center. Beautiful card with the embossed background too!
