Adventurous Sky, Take To The Sky, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I changed it a little. I didn't want to make a "Z" fold card. I don't think men get the concept of a fun fold card. There was no link to the creator of this card so I had no measurements. I had to wing it. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside of the card.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Smoky Slate card stock and using the image from the "Adventurous Sky" bundle I stamped Night of Navy ink all over the piece. Then I taped this piece to the front of the card.

In my 12" x 12" package of the "Take to the Sky" Designer Series Paper (DSP) I had a strip of the grid looking piece. It measured 4-1/8" x 1-3/8". I taped it to a 4-3/8" x 1-5/8" piece of Night of Navy card stock.  I taped this piece to the front of the card. I just eyed it so it was equal on the three sides.

The airplanes DSP is from the same package and it was cut at 2" x 3" and the Night of Navy layer behind it was cut at 2-1/4" x 3-1/4".  I taped the DSP to the Night of Navy piece. I taped this piece to the front of the card. I centered it on the front of the card as much as I could by eyeing it.

The words are from the "Umbounded Love" bundle and were stamped using Copper Clay ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the cloud die from the "Adventurous Sky" bundle. I set the piece in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

I added some retired "Candy Dots" to the front. I didn't have any of the newer embellishments that are on the original card. But using what I have worked and looks nice.

I do like how the card turned out even though it wasn't a "Z fold" card. I think it's the cloud on the card that really caught my eye. It gives it a nice touch. It was a fun card to make and I can see myself making more in the near future, after all I did purchase two packages of that paper. It has a lot of great designs in it.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
