The base of my card is a quarter-sheet of Melon Mambo card stock. It's a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece.
I cut a piece of Basic White that measured 8-1/4" x 5-3/8". The piece was then folded in half.
The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Flowering Zinnias" 12" x 12" package. I cut the pieces at 3" long and 5/8" wide. I cut my piece of DSP at 3" x 3-1/8" and cut off the five 5/8".
The Melon Mambo layers for the strips were cut at 3-1/8" x 3/4". I taped the pieces together. I actually matched up the image on the DSP so it flowed better.
I cut the floral piece using the die from the "Thoughtful Wishes" bundle on a piece of Basic White card stock. I add little dots of glue on the larger parts of the piece and I set it in place on the front of the card.
The words were stamped next. Kind of brave of me. Normally I would wait to glue the floral piece in case I mess up on the words! The words are from the "Unbounded Love" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink. And that was it, the card was done.
I tried my had at strips again and I was successful! I LOVE it when they work out easily. I must be finally getting the hang of it! (it's about time!). This was a fun card to make and I like the way the strips turned out but I'm not thrilled with the floral piece. I think something larger would have looked better. But it is what it is.
Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's thank you card,
Wanda
You truly were successful with the strips. What a fun layout and pretty card!
