Unbounded Love, Thoughtful Journey, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a sympathy card to share with you. This was not what was in my head but I do like the strips and layout though. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Very Vanilla card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I used my Blending Brushes and scrubbed on some Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, and Lost Lagoon ink.

I cut a 4-1/2" x 3" piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock for the layer. I struggled with the color for this layer and ended up with this.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Thoughtful Journey" 6" x 6" package and was cut in succession at 1/2", 7/8", 1" and 1-1/4". All are 3-1/2" long. I taped these strips on to of the Soft Sea Foam piece.

I cut a5-1/2"piece of ribbon (retired) and taped the ends on the back. I slipped the end of the ribbon from the spool under the taped piece, tied a knot and then cut the end from the spool.

The words are from the "Unbounded Love" bundle. I stamped them using Lost Lagoon ink on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock. I cut it using a die from the bundle.  I took a piece of Calypso Coral card stock and cut another oval. I put the word piece inside the Calypso Coral piece, I turned them over and added small Dimensionals to the back where the pieces meet to hold them together. I set the piece in place over the ribbon and the card was done.

I'm not so thrilled with how it turned out. It didn't help that it was not one of my favorite pieces of DSP in that stack. And I'm not fond of the colors I chose.  But I do like this layout and will probably use it again in the future with a better choice on colors.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's sympathy card,
Wanda

I wonder if you saw the same video I did. Yesterday I finished 3 cards like that with the same measurements. The video I watched had 4 other cards using the Thoughtful Journey papers. Love your card!
