Spotlight on Nature, Unbounded Love, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I just had to have this stamp set. I think it was because of the circle dies in it that caught my eye. The images are nice, I especially love the butterfly but I really think it was the dies. I found this card on Pinterest that used the bundle and I thought I'd give it a try. You can see the original card here.  Mine is slightly different. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the top layer. It was textured using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card. I prefer glue because It has better surface contact than tape. With texture you don't get 100% of the tape on the piece, some of the tape is lost in the deeper parts of the texture. With glue you don't get 100% either but when it dries it won't peel off.

Next I stamped the flower and butterfly from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. I colored them using my light and dark Blends pens. I used Pumpkin Pie on the butterfly, Daffodil Delight on the flowers and Granny Apple Green on the leaves and stems. Then I cut them out with the dies from the bundle. I like these dies but they are a bit messy due to the openings around the perimeter.  But the blend in with the other mess on the counter and floor so it's all good!  LOL

I glued the large circle down first. I should have centered it more so the flower on the right could be seen better but it is what it is and now you know so you don't make that mistake.

After the flowers were in place, the butterfly was added using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Unbounded Love" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I used the same size die as the one used on the butterfly.  I set it in place using Dimensionals.

I added a few little pearls to the front and the card was done.

This was a pretty quick card to make and even though I didn't use the same word stamp I do like how it turned out.

Thank you for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Wanda, I like your card even better than the one you saw on Pinterest. The colors you used are more to my liking. Good job!
