Spotlight on Nature, Sketched Butterflies, Simply Said, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on the internet. I changed it a bit, mostly at the base. I prefer to use Basic White card stock for the base of my cards. So I just adjust the layers to fit. You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock. On top of that is a 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" piece of Basic Black card stock. And on top of that is a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock that was textured using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued this piece in place.

A "Spotlight on Nature" die was used from the bundle for the fun circle. I like the little textured lines go around the inside edge of the circle. It's a nice touch, isn't it? I glued the circle in place on the upper part of the card. I eyed it as I made it equal on the top and two sides.

The butterfly is from the "Sketched Butterflies" bundle. I colored it in using the dark Balmy Blue Blends pen and the light Fresh Freesia Blends pen. Coloring over the Balmy Blue with the Fresh Freesia created the pretty purplish color. The butterfly was die cut and set in place on top of the circle using Dimensionals.

The "Simply Said" stamp set was used for the words. I stamped them using black Memento ink. I cut this to 1/2" wide and 3-1/2" long. I set the word strip in place using Dimensionals.

A few retired silver pearls were added and the card was done.

I thought this was a fun card to make. It was very quick and easy too.

Thank you for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
