I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP from the "Flowering Zinnias" 12" x 12" package and taped it to the front of the card base.
Next I took out that strip of DSP and measured it. It is 1-1/2" wide and 5-1/4" long. I cut a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock (I didn't have that glitter paper that is on the original card) and I taped the DSP strip to it. Then I taped that to the front of the card about 5/8" from the fold.
The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the die from the "Labeled with Love" bundle. I opted to by the dies instead of the punch. You get three of the same size dies, which is nice and they all fit inside the stamp set container. I added Dimensionals to the word piece and set it aside.
Then I cut the flower and stem. I used Flirty Flamingo for the flowers. I cut two of them. The stem is Mossy Meadow and I cut one. I glued the two flowers together and then glued them to the stem.
I removed the protective pieces on the Dimensionals and placed the flower stem across the piece first and then set it in place on the front of the card.
This was a super quick and easy card to make. What caught my eye when I saw it was the cute little flower under the word piece. I can see myself making more of these (if I have more DSP strips!).
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
I love being able to use up those left over strips of dsp. The Zinnia paper is lovely!
