Simply Zinnia, Best Family Ever, Stylish Shapes, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a pretty card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I changed a few things on it but it's close. Please read on to see how I made the card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Distressed Tile" folder. I glued it to the front of the card.

Next I cut the three largest stitched square dies from the "Stylish Shapes" set using Basic White card stock. I taped the three squares together and then glued them to the front of the card. I had marked the sides of the textured piece so I could find center and I glued it in place matching the side tips to the marks.

The flower is from the "Simply Zinnia" set and was stamped using black Memento ink. I colored it in using my light and dark Old Olive and Melon Mambo Blends pens. I cut it using the matching die. The piece was set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Best Family Ever" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. The words were set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.  And the card was done.

I thought about adding some bling or bows to it but I liked the cleaner look. It has an elegant feel to it without the bling or bows.

What caught my eye about this card was the three squares taped together. There was something about that look that drew me in. Perhaps it was that it was such a simple thing to do that was a perfect touch to the card.  I just like it, that's all.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Love the Stylish Shapes piece behind the beautiful flower! I resisted buying that dsp and bundle but you have made beautiful cards with it!

I really like the trio of squares. Nice design and adds just the right bling.
