Adventurous Sky, Take to the Sky, Simply Said, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I thought I'd try my hand at one more masculine birthday card before I move on to flowers or something else.  Though I do need more masculine cards I'll give you a break for a day or two.  I just love the Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the "Adventurous Sky" bundle. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and taped it to the inside and I also cut one for the outside.

On the outside cut a piece of DSP from the "Take to the Sky" 12" x 12" package. I cut my piece 4" x 5-1/4" and I cut it diagonally. I got two cards from this piece. I'm not posting the other one, it's just the opposite of this one. Before taping the DSP to the Basic White piece I cut a piece of DSP for the strip. I cut that strip long because I'm not good with lengths like that. I will share the length with you so you don't waste any DSP. If you cut it at 7" x 1/2" you will be fine. I taped the strip to the back of the airplane piece. I only stuck 1/8" to it so there's 3/8" showing. Then I taped that all to the Basic White piece. I lined up the bottom corner and slowly pivoted the piece till it matched on both edges.

The words were done next. They are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. Night of Navy would be nice too.

The airplane is from the "Adventurous Sky" bundle and was stamped using black Memento ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut it with the matching die.

I colored the plane using my Blending pen with Smoky Slate and Pecan Pie ink. I'm thinking Copper Clay would have matched better.  Once the plane was done being colored, Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was such a quick and easy card to make. It's that DSP that really makes the car pop out.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
