The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I often use Basic White for the base of my card to save on the colored card stock since Basic White costs less per sheet than the colors. Sometimes I will use a half-sheet of card stock but most of the time I will use Basic White. It also has another plus to it, I won't have to add a piece of Basic White to the inside to write on. A win/win there! My card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Boho Blue card stock. In the center of this piece I cut the third smallest rectangle die from the "Perennial Postage set. I set it aside for now.
Next I cut a piece of Basic White that measures 5" x 3-3/4" and taped it to the Boho Blue piece.
Then I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Take to the Sky" 12" x 12" package and cut the one with the airplanes on it at 4-7/8" x 3-5/8". On the backside of the plain paper is the design you see on the bottom part in the photo. I taped the two pieces of DSP to the Basic White piece then I taped that to the Boho Blue piece and then that was taped to the front of the card.
I took the die cut Boho Blue piece and textured it using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I tried to set it on a place where there was less bricks and more dots.
The words were stamped next. They are from the "Adventurous Sky" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I trimmed it to measure 1/2" x 2-1/4". to a The Pebble Path card stock piece measures 5/8" x 2-3/8". I snipped the ends of both pieces at an angle and then I taped them together.
I fussy cut the plane from a piece of DSP from the same "Take to the Sky" package. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on the Boho Blue piece. The words were added next. Dimensionals were added to the back of the Boho Blue piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.
I added a few retired "Metallic Pearls" to the front and the card was done.
This was a fun card to make, including the fussing cutting. It is not one of my favorite things to do but it was pretty easy because there wasn't a lot of details to cut. I like how it turned out too. It was quick and easy.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
