Wild Flower Designs, Wildly Flowering, Simply Said, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Misty Moonlight card stock and before I taped it to the front of the card I die cut the scalloped piece from the "Wild Flower Designs" bundle. The center piece comes out so I turned it over and taped it to the framed part.  I set this piece aside. Once the piece was cut out I taped the larger piece to the front of the card.

Next I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it on top of the Misty Moonlight piece.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) pieces are from the "Wildly Flowering" 12" x 12" package. I cut it 4-1/2" x 3-1/2".  The front of the DSP is in the middle and the back is on the sides. I cut the side pieces at 1-1/4" each and the center ends up being 2".  I taped the two side pieces on first and then the center piece. I eyed it as best as I could. I actually liked the look of it just as it was. The colors together had a peaceful look to them.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Misty Moonlight ink. I cut them using the die from the "Wild Flower Designs" bundle. I thought the piece looked pretty plain and a bit too bright so I used the flower image from the set. I used Misty Moonlight and stamped off twice before I stamped the image on my word piece. I did this twice and it toned it down just enough, don't you think? I taped this piece to the scalloped Misty Moonlight piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in the center of the card. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I was SO pleased that I was able to make another card using different sizes of strips and get them right!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
