Thoughtful Wishes, Labeled With Love, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today's card was SO pretty in my head but on paper it's not so great. UGH. Please read on to see how I made it

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a piece of Misty Moonlight at 4" x 5-1/4" and taped it to the card base.

Now this is the part of the card I like, it's what was in my head. I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Wildly Flowering" 12" x 12" package. It measured 4-7/8" x 3-7/8".  I scored it at an angle 1-3/4" up from the bottom on the left and 7/8" up from the bottom on the right. I glued the fold shut and I taped the piece to the front of the card.

The flowers are from the "Thoughtful Wishes" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink on a 2-1/2" x 1-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock. I colored the flowers in using my Blender pen and Moody Mauve ink pad. And the leaves were colored in using Mossy Meadow ink pad. I colored the flowers with Wink of Stella but it didn't show up on the photo. I taped this piece to a 2-3/4" x 2"piece of Moody Mauve card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Labeled With Love" bundle and were stamped using Misty Moonlight ink. I had stamped the double lined border using Moody Mauve first and then the words were placed inside. I cut it using the matching die. There is a punch too but I opted to purchase the die, it came in a set of three.  Dimensionals were added to the back of this piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

A brass butterfly was added to the open area on the top and the card was done.

I'd like to redo this layout sometime and change the word and focal piece. I do like the angled fold.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
