Perennial Postage, Everyday Details, Mother's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have an "I did it" card. I was able to cut the pieces and make them fit evenly.  This is quite a feat for me. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. 

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Perennial Lavender" 12" x 12" package and I taped it to the front of the card.

Next I cut 3 pieces of DSP from the same package measuring 1-5/8" x 1-3/4" each. 

The Basic White layer they are behind measures5-1/4" x 2".  I taped the squares in place. I started with the end pieces and then fit the center one in. I did lay them on top of the piece first for placement and I was thrilled that it fit perfectly! 

The strip was then taped to the upper part of the card.

The words are from the "Perennial Postage" set and were stamped using Gorgeous Grape ink. I die cut them using the third largest die in the "Everyday Details" set. They were taped to a Gorgeous Grape piece that was die cut with the second largest die in the set. Dimensionals were added to the back and the card was done.

I'm thinking it could use some rhinestones or pearls. I may add them later, depending on if I'm going to mail it or not. If I am then I will omit the embellishments due to the extra postage required for that. With the rising cost of postage I need to conserve somewhere.

This was a fun card to make. This was the first time in a long time that I was able to put the pieces together and they fit! I do like how it turned out and I think it's a perfect way to use up some of that DSP without it making it look like you just slapped some scrap pieces together and called it a done deal!
