Choose Happy, Unbounded Love, Get Well Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have one of my most favorite card layouts to share with you. Please read on to see how the card was made.

When I make this card I step out of my comfort zone and make a card that opens on the bottom with the fold on the top. The sheet of card stock was cut in half on the short size at 4-1/4". Once cut the piece measures 4-1/4" x 11".  I uses the new Petunia Pop card stock. Such a pretty color.

The layers are cut as follows, the Basic White piece measures 3-1/2" x 4-5/8". The Bubble Bath piece measures 3" x 4-1/8" and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Unbounded Beauty" 12" x 12" package was cut at 2-7/8" x 4".

I took the DSP and added a little bit of tape to the Bubble Bath card stock, lining up all the edges. I try to put my tape where the circle will be cut out. I use my 1-1/4" circle punch for that. The top edge of the circle starts about 5/8" from the edge of the card stock. You can also punch out a 1-1/4" circle from a piece of scrap paper and use a little dot of tape and set it where you want it on the card and then hover over that area with your punch or lay your circle die on top of it.

The DSP needs to have a larger circle so I like to use a piece of copier paper behind it for strength and then I punch out the ring using the 1-3/8" circle punch. The two layers are then taped together.

I wrapped Baker's Twine around the piece three times. It starts 1" up from the bottom of the Bubble Bath card stock layer. I used a bit of tape to hold it in place on the back while I wrapped it and then used a piece of scotch tape to hold it down.

The bee from the "Choose Happy" set using black Memento ink. I colored the body in using my Lemon Lolly marker. It was stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock that measures about 2-1/4" x 2-1/4".  I added Dimensionals around the back of the circle and set the bee in place.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the Bubble Bath piece and a bit of tape to the Basic White bee stamped piece and the piece was set in place on top of the Basic White layer. Then that was taped to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Unbounded Love" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I used the die from the same bundle to cut them out. Dimensionals were added to the back, I had cut them to fit. I didn't want them to touch the twine or it would not lay nice.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside and the card was done.

I love this layout, it allows you to use the smaller images, it really highlights them. I'm happy with the way this card turned out and look forward to using this lay out again with more images from the "Choose Happy" set.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's get well card,
Wanda
