Adventurous Sky, Take to the Sky, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Take to the Sky" 12" x 12" package. There's a sheet in there that has 12 different images on it. I cut the 12 pieces from the sheet and put together these two for the front of my card.  I trimmed them so they measured 4" x 3" and I cut a 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Smoky Slate for each of the images. I taped the DSP to the card stock and then I taped them to the front of the card. I lined up the upper piece with the fold and the upper edge equally. And I lined up the bottom equally as well.

I stamped the clouds using the images from the "Adventurous Sky" bundle and I die cut them using the matching die. I had inked my stamp with Smoky Slate ink and then stamped off twice before stamping on the Basic White card stock. I wanted a super light image on the clouds. I taped the clouds in place on the front of the card.

The plane was stamped next using black Memento ink. I colored it in using my light Pecan Pie Blends pen. I used my Blender Pen and some Balmy Blue ink for the propeller area. I cut the plane out with the matching die.

I also cut a propeller using the die in the bundle. I colored it in using my light Basic Black Blends pen on the blades and the dark pen on the center of the blades.

The plane was set in place using Dimensionals. I cut a super tiny piece of Dimensional and set the propeller in place using that.

I stamped the words from the same set using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. They were set in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

I'm not overly thrilled with how it turned out, it's nothing like what was in my head when I started but it is what it is.

Thank you for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda

  1. That's a wonderful masculine birthday card. So far I have resisted that set. :)
