Adventurous Sky, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. The new stuff is here and I'm ready to play. Today I made a masculine birthday card. Please read on to see how the card was made

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Take to the Sky" 12" x 12" package. I cut the long piece 2" x 5-1/2" and the Copper Clay card stock at 2-1/4" x 5-1/2". And the other piece of DSP was cut at 1-1/2" x 4" and the Copper Clay layer was cut at 1-3/4" x 4-1/4".  I taped the shorter horizontal piece on at about 1-3/8" from the bottom and the top long piece was taped on at about 3/8" from the fold.

Next I cut the circle using the die from the "Everyday Detail" set on a piece of Basic White card stock. I taped that to the front of the card.

The plane is from the "Adventurous Sky" set and was stamped using black Memento ink on a piece of Basic White card stock.  I opted to use my Blending Pen to color the plane because I wanted to have the color lighter where the propellers are. So when I colored the body of the plane using Copper Clay ink I made sure my pen hardly had any color left on it and colored the plane where the propellers are to it looked lighter behind the propellers.  I colored the propellers area in using Balmy Blue that was almost gone from my pen. And the rest of the plane was colored in using Pebble Path ink. The plane was then die cut using the matching die from the "Adventurous Sky" bundle.

The words are from the same set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut them with a die from the same bundle.

I set the plane in place using an adhesive spring commonly known as a "Wobble" and then I set it in place on the circle. You can use Dimensionals if you don't have a spring. These are fun because you can just flick it and it wobbles back and forth. I love using these things. I had my hubby print me one on his 3D printer but it's too big so he's gone back to the drawing board to scale it down some. I hope he can work it out because these run about $.25 a piece and it adds up fast when you make a lot of card using them. Anyway, I used one on my card and I love how the plane wobbles when it's flicked.

The words were added using Dimensionals and the card was done.

I do like how the card turned out and it's got a masculine touch to it, doesn't it?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
